What games do you think are ridiculously overpriced?

I have a lot of the physical games that I wanted for those systems but they're stored away. Way easier to slap a hard drive in the PS2, an ODE in the Gamecube, and have the entire library at your fingertips with the additional options that OPL provides like GSM and memory card emulation.
True, it's like the best of both worlds. I love modding original hardware. I used to do it for work too.
I have an SSD in my PS2 and I upgraded my Indigo GameCube myself with the Picoboot mod.

Games like Pokemon LGP/E and BD/SP releasing for a whopping $60 really gets me. Although now if they make more lackluster 2.5D remakes like that, they'll probably cost $70. Ugh.

I really don't understand people's infatuation with this game. Even when the game came out, it wasn't worth $50. Let alone being three or four times that amount now. Honestly, I think people are more in love with the idea than the actual game itself. There were interesting ideas, but they were all just either executed badly or done very mediocrely. There are so many games that you can play now that offer much better experience for what it was trying to do. Especially on the indie scene.
What games? Most horror games have shallow B movie tier story that doesn't even try to say anything, including indies.

I don't even own games anymore as I literally emulate pretty much most of the thing. But if I had to say, maybe (almost) every recent Mario games are overpriced? I mean, Nintendo being Nintendo to milk their own franchise with practically the same genre every single release and stuffs. Not sure how much it is, I don't even own Switch, but I'm pretty sure it's way too overpriced. Who knows.
Mario and everything else Nintendo is WAY overpriced, they haven't made anything new for more than a decade just the same regurgitated crap with slightly better graphics.

I said game in the first sentence, and Rule of Rose not worth any amount of money unless you're getting it for $5 or less (preferably the latter if one desperately must). I did say many games, but that was the very last sentence and not the first. If you like Rule of Rose, more power to you. The game is not worth it, and I rather play anything a majority of the time. Even if or when it's certain other games in general I don't like, but don't dislike as much. I am not turning this into pointless back and forth. It's my opinion, and I am not changing that.

Almost any Musou games I buy used or on a heavy discount due to KT's DLC practices. Or wait for the upgraded version, but this becoming a less thing since Samurai Warriors 4. Even then, some secondhand markets are still charging old or older games like they've been out a few months and not more than 3 years now.

Most Gamecube games its hell out there getting one.

well that game and Klonoa on the Ps2 and many other classics

HOLY SHIT, was that Mario Galaxy + Mario Galaxy 2 bundle last year was a total scam

Especially since I have 3 copies of 3D All stars since I was led to the impression 5 years ago that it would be the only time those games would be on the switch, but NOPE. We got 64 and Galaxy back, hidden in either a 50 dollar yearly subscription service, or 70 dollars with one extra game with barely any new features.

Like how can you fuck you up a bundle like that, how is purchasing a used copy of JUST Galaxy 2 for $40 the better option after 15 years????

3 copies of 3D All stars
When did you have the time to get three of them? I only got the one copy, and I got it on a sale. But yeah.I am never touching that double bundle. Especially since I don't care for the second game and I still have the original Wii version of the first game.

DS games have gone up in price. They've been charging Tokyo Beat Down on Amazon and eBay at $200+ for years. So many better brawlers have came out on that system, before it and afterwards in other consoles, and so on. I played it and got all the endings. One time through emulation, but never felt the need to go back to it.

OK then:
Almost anything really. If we're strictly talking survival horror and psychological horror games. I don't care if they're shlocky or not, but Rule of Rose ends up feeling like schlock. Not intentional on its part, but nothing really gels well together from what I remember. Even when they're not exactly going for the same thing whatever the game was trying to do, I found much better experiences.
  • Clock Tower SNES and the first sequel on PS1.
  • Silent Hill 1-4, Shattered Memories, and SH2R. That said I really don't care much for SH4.
  • Amnesia
  • Evil Within 2 - it does a really great job on PTSD, survivors guilt, and overcoming trauma. Still my number 2 horror game.
  • Parasite Eve
  • Tormented Souls
  • Crow Country
  • Signals - though I really don't like how ida management has done that game, and I am glad for that update.
I can go on all day. If you like Rule of Rose, or find it better than everything else or whatever themes it was going for, I don't care. You have fun playing or paying whatever money you did on it. Not worth it to me and not worth it at anything over $5-10.

It was a pretty big investment I kinda regret . . .

In fact, they made tons of copies of the game, so it wasn’t even hard to get them.
I kid you not that even a year later when 3D All Stars was discontinued, there were still tons in stock at my Local GameStop and Walmart

Any obscure games outta get expensive eventually

It’s an inconsistent world of supply of demand post market, I’ll give you that

Tell me about it. Tokyo Beat Down was $30 when it came out. As sure, as hell ain't worth over a hundred dollars. Code of Princess was an obscure game that sold well on the console it debuted on. The 3Ds. You can also get the game on steam (both the vanilla release and the upgraded version, no English dub due to rights issues) and there's an upgraded version on Switch named EX. The reason why the original versions are getting more expensive. Now. It's because the first sets came with a small art book and 💿 OST. It's the only version that has the actual excellent English Dub. Thank god, I got my copy day one. It was my second 3DS game i got physically. So I think those are the justifications for the price going up, even though there are other versions available now.

and then there’s Barbie Groom and Glam pups on the 3DS . . .

Clayfighter 63 1/3
Prices are too insane.

lol no need to get so defensive, I was actually curious if I was actually missing some other games that were close to Rule of Rose thematically and aesthetically, but yeah other than some of the SHs none of these are close to what I am looking for
