True, it's like the best of both worlds. I love modding original hardware. I used to do it for work too.I have a lot of the physical games that I wanted for those systems but they're stored away. Way easier to slap a hard drive in the PS2, an ODE in the Gamecube, and have the entire library at your fingertips with the additional options that OPL provides like GSM and memory card emulation.
I have an SSD in my PS2 and I upgraded my Indigo GameCube myself with the Picoboot mod.
