What Game has your favorite Atmosphere?

Chrono Cross.
Don't play Trigger first, if you haven't already. It doesn't matter.
You will laugh, you will cry; a lot. Like every 30 minutes. At least, I did.
Stop what you're doing and play it right now.
It changed my entire perspective on life. I'm not exaggerating.
been on my backlog for a while! i think its time i play it soon!

re1-3 are easily some of my favorite looking games. i love the character models !
me too! i didn't mention 3 because that time i only had those 3 games. but 3, 4, 5, Code Veronica are also on my list of favorite games. i can't say for the 3 remake. it lacks so many cut content that i end up skipping it. however RE1 and RE2 and RE4 remake were totally worth it, i hope code veronica gets the same success sales like RE1,2&4 Remake did.

Kinda hard to pick one. I think the 32-bit era had the best atmospheres in games for some reason, maybe the technological limitation forced devs to get really creative and come up with some unique stuff.
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver has probably the most unique atmosphere I've seen in a game, I could never find another game with the same atmosphere and I really tried. Not even Soul Reaver 2 managed to replicate it.
I really like Megaman Legends 2 specially when it gets "mystical".
The original Resident Evil trilogy on the PS1 is another great example.

gotcha. im glad re4r did so well and i hope they put the same effort into either a cv remake or a remake of the remake of re1 lol

Yeah. Great signature btw, Caskett the best Roll
You truly are a person of culture

I think... Pokemon.

I just love the fact that its world is ALL ABOUT the creatures that inhabit it, whilst also being grounded in reality.
yeah! it is such a vibrant and amazing ecosystem and i literally love all of them so much. i like when the devs make the means of catching them or the places you find them connnect to their traits and there types.

Since I always talk about MMORPGs usually (and RPGs) I'll just say SSX3 this time since we had a snowboarding game thread the other day! It might sound silly but if you want to experience what it felt like to go skiing in the early 2000s that game was it, the free ride that allows you to travel all the way from the top of the mountain to the bottom with a GTA style radio is amazing. Whether that's hearing weather reports that actually happen or listening to the music, the rants from the DJ, commentary on the races. Drama between the competitors. It's insane!

Bro the free ride from the top of the mountain is pure bliss (on top of being a big achievement because most ps2 era games needed to split big maps into chunks)

been meaning to play vagrant story cuz i beat ff12 a few months back!. love the artstyle of 12 so much and from what ive seen vagrant story iy looks so pretty for a ps1 game.

Great music, which you can extract from the game files easily; and great vioice acting

I love the 00s pc game look a lot, and I'm not even usually into no-combat horror games
I love big spooky castles
And it's a lot like descending into hell to atone for your sins
im the same for old pc games! im a sucker for the visuals of old source engine games. half life 2 episode 2 sticks out to me its so pretty.

The two main ones for me are probably Ridge Racer 4 and Battlefield 1. Ridge Racer 4's opening has been in my head for years now. The scenery of the race courses is also great, especially the ones that take place during the evening, when you get to see a lovely PS1 sunset. It can be both cool and relaxing.

Battlefield 1's atmosphere is pretty intense most of the time, there are some quiet moments as well, though. But of course the stand out parts are when you're crouching behind cover, listening to bullets whip past and shells drop all around you. The lighting is also incredible, seeing how it interacts with clouds of smoke and dust, caused by gunfire and explosions.

Very good games.

ahh i loved bf1. there is and never will be an online shooter that replicates total war and chaos like bf1 will. the planes flying, the zeppelins falling and the fire all around you set the tone so well. i played hell let loose the other day and it came decently close, but not as fun as bf1.

HE'S A WONDERFUL MAN
THERES NO PLACE ID RATHER BE
YEEEAHH
TO THE FINISH LINE
EVERYWHERE I LOOK HE'S RIGHT ON TIIIIME

I recently played Majora's Mask for the first time and to be honest, gameplaywise, I didn't enjoy it all that much compared to other Zelda games, but man the atmosphere was insane. I see why there are so many fan theories about link being dead. In fact, I agree to the sentiment a lot after playing it myself. Its like a bad trip similar to Alice in Wonderland
