When i made my account with the identity of Cleffaible (being very quickly changed to Swadloon) i basically went to download games only, but the day that everything changed was 6 january 2026. In that day i sent a lot of messages on the repository and leveled up to level 1. I saw the level perks and remembered the lack of Java games so i wanted to make use of my recently adquired perks to post a suggestion regarding the inclusion of Java games. @Waffles answered me later on that post and i felt that i can made use of this site for something more than downloading games.
I changed my username from Swadloon to Archienine later that day (Archienine is the name of my YouTube account and my actual first, established username instead of random shitty names that i used without thinking too much) and my pfp from Swadloon to Daroach from Kirby and well... My journey across RGT begun.

I left a while back so I can study harder, but multiple people told me too come back. So I said "sure" so I cooked up some RGT-tan and here I am again. New faces and lots of fun people here is what's keeping me here actually.

Great topic idea, man.

I mostly just wanted to download games, but then I lurked for a bit and saw A LOT of activity, which made me want to join.

That first month was PAINFUL because of all the threads I couldn't post on, but it's been smooth sailing from there — this is the first site I check every morning >:D

Thanks, the idea came after i answered to @FarJyyUir with a summary of my early days on the forum in your profile page.
So yeah, you indirectly caused this xD.

Glad we have you on board, things wouldn't be the same without you and the rest of this community. ::bigboss

I joined because when CD romance change to RGT I noticed there have a forum so I said "I never been in a forum so what may going wrong?" So I started here and I love it, I meet some cool people with the same passion in retro games like me (and for the perks, yeah...)
Now I stay here because I don't have many friends in real life, and the few I do have I can't see for various reasons. I have no one to talk to about games with, and I spend a lot of time alone at home so this helps me to don't feel alone
Sorry I guess I turned sentimental

Well, a some years ago I finished my highschool period and my friend just threw me away

Honestly?

It was a fresh start for me. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for @Waffles and what turned into a "Can you make a theme for the board" turned into a "I'm not leaving, I want to be a member of the community" kinda thing. I have been an admin on another forum (well, still am. Kind of.) since I was 19. First, I became art assistant which was making images and themes for the board. Then for some reason I got promoted to admin because the previous one left. And for a while I had a lot of ups and downs at that forum. I made a lot of new friends that will last a lifetime. But honestly? I'm tired. I'm completely worn out of an admin/staff role.

That's what makes me stay here. Not just the content of the forum. I game a lot but I don't play half of the consoles all of you do, or even know half of the games. 😂 BUT, I still have an outlet to post about my obsession for The Elder Scrolls and it's a good way to see what other people are playing beyond my own friend group, even if I never end up playing them myself. But yeah. It's nice to just be a regular member fiddle farting around with all of you and free of any staff responsibilities like the previous forum I've been on.

No worries, i also used CDRomance in my early teenage years and discovered the existence of PSP ISOs and lots of translation patches there. Later, when Wowroms (my main ROMs page at the time) was filled with porn and shady ads i remembered CDRomance and found that the site was renamed to RGT and the addition of forums which i didn't care at first.
And yeah, i have no one to talk about games neither and felt somewhat like a ghost around my environment.

Waffles is the cause of why we are here lol.

I stayed because why the heck not, I met and still meeting a lot of great people. In short I came for the Repo but stayed for the forum.

Nevertheless I never thought that I would find a lot of people that I can friends. I've been hopping from forums to forums but none of those gave me a chance to so truly genuine good people like this place did.

Came for a Summon Night game, noticed the "NEW!" sticker next to "Forum" and gave it a go.

At the time, we were around 600 and no-one had more than 500 posts - no topic had ever reached two pages, either, which is just insane to me.

It feels like forever ago...

LOL.

The fun part is that we DID try, even when topics were going nowhere... We were a really small community at the time and pretty much every active user had posted on my introduction post lol.

The fact that almost that entire group is still here fills me with joy.

I get what you say. Pretty much any user that i get along is still here.
Also you think that i should made a introduction post in my earlier days?

Maybe.

It is encouraged, but not mandatory... I only made mine to see if anyone would reply — like I said, small forum xD

I mentioned in one of my first posts how I found this place, being I typed into google something like "Shin Megami Tensei If English Translation Please God No Virus" Well, there was no virus, and to this day I am still here.
In fact, i discovered CDRomance the same way, only that was Dissidia Final Fantasy.

Honestly it's the sense of community and seeing the passion for games as a whole. Initially it was just for the Repo since the switch from CDRomance to RGT but the community is just fantastic and makes me look forward to seeing the posts here whenever I'm feeling the mood to check here whether if I'm feeling chatty or lurky.
