What did you play today?

Decided to play Visions of Mana, since its premise is promising. And a friend told me she really loved it.

I didn't expect it to look so...cheap. I know it's a budget game (albeit one sold at full price, because of course it is), but it feels more like it was made by Idea Fuck than the once-monarch of JRPGs. Not to mention that I'm playing on PC, so I need to deal with the beauty of an inconsistent framerate and a loud fan. Why is this game requiring 16GB of RAM? I know Square has always had a complex from not being a western dev, but copying the western trend of not optimizing the game in any way is not endearing. It should be 8, and no more.

Just finished the main story of Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation Code Fairy. Had nothing to play and it's free with PS Plus. Haven't played too many Gundam action games, but I had fun with this one. Yeah, more One-Year War spinoffs isn't unique, but the all girl squad is something new and they're all pretty likable.

Also waiting to see if Amazon gets a restock of the Lunar Remastered Collection because I missed out on the original batch and really want to go through those games again.

Garou Densetsu / Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on PS4

I've been playing online rank matches, only finishing tutorial and missions of each character offline. I'm eventually going to start EOST (Episodes of South Town) and complete arcade mode. Initially B. Jenet was going to be my main since I played her the most in Garou / Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves but once Hokutomaru was announced I knew it was going to be him- my secondary in the prior game. Currently B II grade with roughly 70% win rate, but I know that's going to decrease in time since I'm going to try out other fighters. For example today I spent most of my time using Salvatore Ganacci, wow I thought he would have been a 'joke' character, but he's damn solid in his own way lol.

I finished Puyo Puyo 2 but Witch absolutely wrecked my shit so I had to use a few continues... but afterwards I didnt have to use one for the rest of the game. When you get really far it seems like all you need to do is chain a 3 combo and the AI doesnt know how to handle it when the puyos drop so fast

been playin the original fire emblem on nes.emu cos im a sucker for the origin of things

Curious. If so, that's a shame. The PS5 version looks and performs rather nicely...

The game itself does look very lovely, most of the time. It's just that the non-FMV cutscenes look terrible, and those were what bothered me the most because this is a story-focused game.

first gameplay on pokemon pearl. i like it, since shinx and palkia are my favourite pokemon. i didnt do much, right now going to obtain a bike. what have you done today?

Played some more Clair Obscur today and continued my 2nd playthrough of Sakura Wars so that i can finally play Sakura Wars 2 soon ::heart

Been making my way through Daxter for the PSP. Kinda over it, very samey-samey, but fine for PSP platforming.

making my way downtown in metaphor refantastico
i finished replaying proving grounds of the mad overlord for the 48th time so i figured it was time to play something new to me

Went back and played Tales of destiny again (it's been a long time since I played it) and I was giddy when I saw Mary.
I also played a little bit of Mario kart double dash too

Played some Robocop: Rogue City but it kept crashing so I played more of the PS1 remake of Tales of Phantasia, but the area I'm at rn is a slog. Dunno if I'll bother seeing it to the end but as a JRPG fan I'd like to say I at least beat one Tales game, as mid as I find them.

And, as always, more Puyo Puyo 2.

Have you tried Tales of the Abyss yet? not the biggest Tales fan myself but that one is great! :3

I've not! Maybe I'll put that on the list. Is the 3DS port any good?

I installed Windows XP on an old core2 quad that was laying around the place and now I'm playing Warcraft 3 and Need for Speed Porsche on it. I'm impressed how light that system is, it can run 1080p YouTube videos at 2x speed with just 1gb of DDR2 ram and the integrated graphics🤯

Been feeling a bit down in the dumps the past days, so I've been playing WoW, I guess it's my comfort game.
I've been playing on my Warlock a bunch and I really like it right now. Finally finished the quest chain to get my Class Mount, and made a really cool transmog I'm happy with.

Now to finish the last 6 levels so that I can try the new raid and zone.

I recently finished Demon's Souls (PS3) again today, I got all the trophies on RPCS3 (that 60fps patch is incredible) but wanted to do it again "legit" on original hardware. Still a great experience for me to this day!
