These fuckers are the true difficulty spike of VP. If you encounter them early in Caves of Oblivion, chances are you're gonna be pretty much toast no matter what and the only way to survive is to avoid them entirely or reset into different cave types instead (which actually can be done).

Hunters from resident evil 1 thanks to the stupid game desync of animation and Collison these guys always get a claw on me.

Lickers from RE2 anxiety inducing , hit very hard (haha I play on hard only imagine playing easy can't be me)

Nemsis from RE3 intentionally designed to torment you , get away? CHAAARGE and BAM a fist in your face.

Tonyberry from FF if you know you know.

Rompers from silent hill fast and unpredictable they require a rifle to deal with and are almost always guaranteed you will take damage from them again if you played on hard like me you know healing ain't easy to come by.

While I "hate" them without these enemies the games won't be the same the experience won't be the same thanks to whoever designed these nightmares for giving me a unforgettable experience (:

Those arch-vile assholes from Doom 2. I was so happy to see they're not in Doom 64. They are easier to kill in Doom 3 though, so at least there's that.

i haven't played doom, but i do see that a lot of the enemies from the series being listed here. they must be an impressive bunch of assholes to pop up here so often.

never even played the DLCs but my immediate answer is Marauder, i dont wanna gitgud quickswap ballista ssg on a controller i just wanna keep moving forward in my doom level but nah gotta stop and do the dance for a bit til you see the green light, what a fucking killjoy they are.

shoutout to the purple slowyoudown slime in eternal as well, even though its an environmental hazard it is for sure #2 most annoying thing in eternal. though again i've not even played the stinky hard DLCs, do love base eternal tho

one i love to hate tho:

ds1 skelewheelers, the few token ones in ds3 just dont hit the same

and moms hand ruined a run the other night for me cos i was playing on the steamdeck low brightness and couldn't ever see the telegraphed shadow before it came down to grab me, i got grab teleported back to start like 3 times i was raging lol

The ones that regenerate health every turn, and if you can't do enough damage it becomes frustrating to see that health bar full again -_-

The Geists from FF1 give me nightmares just thinking about them. You always encounter them in packs, and if you're doing a solo run, you may as well reset if you get stunned, and there's a great chance that you will because they have such a high chanced to paralyze that it's actually insane. Anytime I boot up a solo run, I dread the Earth Cave and that long trek down to Vampire, and a second time for Lich.
