I’ve been doing my best to try and ketchup with what I missed out in the sopranos, mentalist, house and castle.
Yes I’m talking about tv shows.
I’d like to rewatch scrubs one day. Maybe finally finish true detective and twin peaks too.
Yeah yeah I have a big backlog.
Edit: why am I so obsessed with hospital dramas like a 40 y/o housewife?
Yo bro, I'm also watching The Sopranos!
I was immediately hooked from the first episode, and I love the opening music

This post has been a long time coming.

So, as you've probably been aware if you've seen any of my posts made in the last few weeks, I've been watching Dinosaurs – the 1991 sitcom produced by the Jim Henson Company – obsessively, and I just finished it up a few days ago. In short: I really liked it. In long:

When I started watching the first season (which is only 6 episodes long), I really didn't like it at all, and on reflection the earliest episodes aren't great. The family, despite being dinosaurs, come off as pretty generic and uninteresting, and none of the first few plots are really that exciting – they're all just standard kiddy show fare. (And this show was absolutely not made for kids.) Starting right away in Season 2, though, the creators immediately found the show's voice in satirizing then-contemporary culture, and it becomes way, waaaaaay better. All the main characters discover their unique voices and roles in the formula, and it's a ton of fun watching them bicker and bounce off of each other.

From that point the show also becomes very, very, VERY preachy – far more than any other Jim Henson thing – but it's never annoying or groan-inducing, because 1) it's heavily self-aware, with characters frequently breaking the fourth wall to comment on it, and 2) it isn't above making jokes about how asinine and simplistic its own viewpoint is, either. (One of my very favourite jokes in the whole series is in one of the last episodes – the liberal brother character starts lecturing his sister about women in the workplace, and she straight-up calls him a [verbatim] "sophomoric anti-establishment pseudo-intellectual", which had me rolling on the floor.)

I can see how some people might find the constant allusions to then-modern politics and culture insufferable – there are episodes about feminism (in fact, there's a whole character who exists solely to a feminist mouthpiece, and her episodes suck sausage), race, war, capitalism – but it's always funny. It helps that these characters are just so fucking likeable – even the baby (gotta love him!) is honestly really cute, and if you're willing to "buy into" him, he has a lot of fun plotlines and gags. There's even this one episode (again near the end) that, out of nowhere, has this unbelievably fucking heartwarming ending that genuinely made me really happy. For a show about animatronic lizards, that's gotta count for something!

You can't comment on Dinosaurs without bringing up the ending, of course, and I do think it's very well done. It's easily the most haunting thing you'll ever see out of the Muppets people, and it did stick with me after the episode ended... if you've never seen it, I'd definitely recommend watching the show's very last episode, if only for the curio factor. Other excellent eps include the one with the rotten food coming out of the fridge (which is like a fucking movie in 30 minutes, it's awesome), the one where the mother-in-law dies (she's hilarious too), the one where the son is given a career, and, unbelievably, the two clip shows, especially the first.

I unironically loved this show. I liked watching these stupid dinosaurs get into silly little domestic situations. It's obvious that the people behind it were smart, passionate, and playful, and it comes across in every darn episode, even the bad ones. I think the show was right to end when it did – there wasn't really much else to do, and some of the last season's episodes were pretty barrel-scrapey – but for 65 episodes, I pretty much never left disappointed. If you're at all interested, seriously, check Dinosaurs out.

AND SINCLAIR... GET IN HERE!!!!!! (Richfield's my favorite character, obv.)

Do you like this show? Does it get any better in later seasons? I remember watching a few episodes right when the series premiered, but I didn’t really like them, and everything I’ve seen since then has kind of made me feel the same way. If the show has, like, a million seasons and an actual theatrical movie, though, people must see something in it.

I Actually am digging out a few Folders to watch this weekend.
Gonna re-watch The I.T. Crowd and The Blackadder. Love both the shows, but haven't saw them in Ages
Probably have a Few drinks to.

IT Crowd is good but I noticed that I laughed even harder on Father Ted.

Sadly Black Books was fine but my least favourite.

I recently rewatched 30 Rock, which I was a big fan of as a teen. Still the funniest show ever I think.

Technically I was rewatching Two and a Half-men Seasons 1 to 8 ... but it was my wife's first time
and it's nice she got to enjoy the series ... well more like got intrigued and watch Charlie Sheen imploded near the end lol

Sidenote - I tried to show her clips of Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor ... but she kept saying 'No!!! The monster inside him took over and he became BAD ALAN.':LOL::LOL::LOL:

Rewatching Malcolm in the Middle. One of the greatest sitcoms ever that doesn't get enough credit.
Great show! I agree, very underrated.

As for myself, I have been rewatching 3rd Rock From the Sun as of late.
I bought the boxset and am really enjoying rewatching it.
Also the RoboCop TV Series from 1994, also a really good show for the time.
and when I get time to, I'm probably going to start on Forever Knight.

Because of Marvel Rivals, I got into watching most of the Marvel Cinematic universe for the first time and I had to tell my Marvel head of a friend five times that it is first time and he still assumed I'd seen Iron Man and Captain America.

Still, after that I got into watching "The Netflix Marvel Universe" starting off with Daredevil, that had few incredible extended action scenes and overall enjoyable drama.

Jessica Jones season 1 absolutely blew my expectations, expected the least of it yet got to experience in some ways the best villain I have yet seen in fiction or fact.

Luke Cage from Netflix I had set higher expectations to that the first season went under, but still extremely enjoyable Wholesome Friendly Neighborhood Black Defender.

Overall in many ways the netflix shows deliver, glad to be in this rat hole for a while.
