Description

This is a fun RPG maker game I wanted to upload here for more exposure to it and the developer behind it!

I love playing Triple Triad in FF8 so this kept me hooked for quite a while! If your a FF fan along side being a TT fan you will also love the cast of characters included too!

You can find the developers game page here: CLICK HERE!

This is the final version of the game, as said by the developer.

Enjoy!

This looks good, Dam good. Why have i never heard of this. downloading now. Thank you AlmaElma123

UPRC MENTIONED!!! If you enjoyed this, I implore you to check out his other games. He's remaking his FF fangame right now in the latest version of RPG maker- pretty cool stuff!!!

I think the aesthetic dissonance in indie RPG Maker projects is part of the charm. The clashing sprites, mismatched art styles, and random borrowed assets created a strange chaotic aesthetic that's its own vibe. Mixing ripped sprites, custom edits, and clashing art styles is absolutely an acquired taste, but there’s something genuinely endearing about it in a way that makes it feel raw and sincere in a way that polished projects don’t. Honestly it's kinda punk.
It's like moving sculptures made of garbage, but sculptures give aesthetic pleasure from contemplation, but what if you want to PLAY games and not just look at a pile of old junk. :)
Surprisingly, also released original projects on RPG maker with independently created resources not pulled from the world by thread. And as I see it, some even get to sell in services like steam.

this very cool, it actually has story and game play outside the card battle, reminds me of pokemon tcg on gbc

So you've decided to open the gates for RPG Maker games, I hope you know what you're doing lol

Seriously tho maybe you should add a RPG Maker tag, if not for future-proofing just for more clarity?

Is it even normal when a homemade game that positions itself as a tribute to specific game or certain series of games openly uses resources from such games? There are many such projects and sometimes they are good. By the way, the decision to use both sprites from the 2D games and sprites based on 3D models from remakes, imho, causes dissonance in the overall style of this homemade product.

The card game in Final Fantasy 8 was awesome.
There have been a couple other clones on Steam (forgotten their names even though I have them in library) but not as great.
Excited to give this one a go. Thanks!

man i never liked triple triad, but maybe that was because it was trapped in one of the most boring FF games
i remember halting my FF8 story progression just to get a rare one of a kind card from Rinoa, and i've never once got past the train mission because of it. because that card would be completely missed if i didn't do it RIGHT there
i'm too OCD to just "ignore it" and that ruins FF8 for me.

but yeah, i liked FF9s card game a LOT more, easier to actually "win" and i got 100% of the cards in Ff9 (which glitches the menus so you can't ever check the collection after a point)

This is very neat. I played FF8 a second time just to play the TT quest line. I don't think they will have the catch a monster card feature but if they do...can't wait.

As for the original games, when such mechanics like mini-games or built-in card/gambling games are in the game, it doesn't annoy me IF it's an optional element and if you don't have to play it to get something unique that you can't get in other ways in the game.
