I get your point but neither "woke" hollywood nor "based" old timey hollywood has ever cared for racial or cultural accuracy in movies. They just cast whomever they think is marketable or popular at the time. Its a losing battle to get upset about such things, but I get it, to a certain extent. Like the Al Pacino example I mentioned, I can see how it can be upsetting for one's race/culture to get mangled on film. But to renounce cinema because of that seems too extreme to me.

Hollywood was never truly Based its Demonic many child actors can attest to that considering what they do with them there.

Only thing Hollywood cares for is money and currently the sweet sweet blackrock money apparently.
Also I don't renounce Cinema I am just not a fan of Hollywood even if some good movies came out of there.

I am more a Anime fan overall and prefer (Ironic or Unironically depending on where you stand) foreign media more like Japanese or Chinese games and movies not made in le we love realy love children Hollywood.

Agreed, the woke/based qualifiers were just cheeky sarcastic humor. Hollywood generally sucks no matter what politics you ascribe to them. Their real politic is money.

Well it has a Pedophilia problem sadly.
Racism barely some here and there maybe but its gold compared to early Hollywood
Also most Anime is based in Japan about Japanese people so yeah inclusion of all races can not be expected from a practical almost ethnostate like Japan.

Sexism in Anime however goes both way in Anime i would say Women get sexualized and men get beaten up and both is played out like a joke.

Still there are enough good Anime out there.

That honestly disgusts me but sadly as you stated laws where different in Japan for a long time in modern times you could marry a 16 year old as far as I remember over there as a grown ass man..so that is telling,but apaparently I hope those laws are not in power anymore but apparently already at 14 when you had adult contact with such a child would not be considered grape.

I also believe Anime has enough closet pedos both as fans and creators which give us normal Anime fans a bad rep and I wished the would get rid of the CP in all media but I don't trust the CP loving government to do anything about it.

Best thing we can do which may be controversial for some is Gatekeeping to keep the pedos out of our spaces if the they get exposed.

Well, the Odyssey made 260 million over the weekend. So the rage-baiters that predicted the movie would fail because of a black Helen of Troy were wrong, as they usually are. Most people don't care about these things, they just want to be entertained or captivated.

it's too serious, the real "odyssey" has the main guy being a trickster in a few cases and making jokes and messing with people, like i haven't seen this new movie but the preview and review videos out already show the main guy with the same depressed or angry face the whole movie.

It's a Nolan movie, fun is forbidden.

I'm not saying it is meaningful as a measure of quality. Art is subjective after all. But many of the rage bait anti-woke youtubers who were predicting it would fail because of a trans actor and black Helen of Troy.

And the movie is defintively good, in my estimation. So yeah this is cope.

Never said he had to watch it. If you want to boycott it based on any reason that is fine. I get what you are trying to say about McDonalds but the comparison is off because watching the Odyssey won't make you fat or fill you with chemicals. To me you have to watch movies of all eras to have credibility as a movie critic. I would say the same about a video game critic who doesn't play any video games.

Did I say the quality of the Movie was lacking ?
I called it Woke and Blackwashing not garbage.

Woke as much as I hate it is not = bad quality.

Baldurs Gate 3 is woke yet a good game.

I made a generalazation that people or at least many don't care for quality and buy badly made games this is why Nintendo keeps releasing broken pokemon games after another yet people keep buying them in mass.

"I could not even bring myself to eat there" might actually serve as an enlightening restaurant criticism. If the critic thought it, and was too worried about his credibility to state it, others might suffer needlessly.
