The entertainment industry has gone to hell for the past decade if not more.
You don´t own game or movies or music you just rent a license for a limited not set in stone time.
Games and movie quality has gone down the drain so far even the bad games of the past is better quality.

Games are released in a half finished state and maybe patch 1-2 years later down the line. Games are poorly optimized or just the picked a game engine that´s not even suited for the game they are making.

More and more companies will use Unreal 5 sure it´s a great engine in some aspect it´s easy to use and easy to teach new developers how to use it. When you look at most games that uses it the game´s run poorly and often had a stuttering issue which is an issue Epic knows about but they got no clue on how to fix it yet and they are in no hurry to fix it either because companies still gonna keep using it.

Because training people to use Cry engine or Unity or RE engine would cost to much money. We all know the hate monster hunter wilds got on PC because it ran like shit and still does because it´s using RE engine that more built for games like resident evil compare to the more open world of Wilds. Had they spent the money and used Cry engine like Kingdom Come II did the game would probably run well and still look good.


The issue today who gives shit about quality about you having the right to play the games you pay 70-100 bucks for your a bloody walking wallet they need to fight over. And their Ideal is how to spend as little money as possible to make larger profits.

And as Ubisoft them self stated Micro transactions is fun and something every one loves and it makes gamer´s happy you need to spend more money on games you don´t own so they can remove the game and force you to buy their newest single player game where you need to pay even more money once inside the game.

All while Ubisoft blames gamer´s for the failures of their games. You are the reason they are in a bad situation fincical to the point they wanna set up a system to proctet them self. Acording to their fincial report and yes I read it all of it.

At this rate, the government, ISP's, and credit card companies are going to dictate everything that everyone has access to on the internet. Actions like these that are stated to protect children generally don't protect them at all. The current itch.io controversy is only a small part of the picture. "The children" are an easy way to excuse just about anything. Videogames are only one part of the equation here. Even chatting on a forum like this could be targeted. After all "the children" could be on here and seeing something only meant for adults even though the rules do not allow for NSFW content.

What is for adults? Anything these entities say it is. Porn is the lowest hanging fruit and has been already for some time. Credit card companies have been doing this long before itch.io was targeted. It will almost certainly extend beyond if legal precedents are in place to restrict what's on the internet and who can access it as various legislations world-wide are trying to do. If whoever is in power doesn't like something, they would have the legal power to take it down for any number of reasons.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if there were some big players backing groups like Collective Shout. The veneer of moral righteousness is disarming. How can you oppose something aimed to help "the children?" It's more okay to be exposed to people killing each other than it is to see nudity or to be in-tune with your sexuality. There is an argument to be made that major storefronts make it too easy to access adult content, but the solutions that are being enacted are overreaching and don't help anyone. Eliminating net neutrality isn't going to solve society's problems or shift culture. It's consolidating more power to people who shouldn't have it. But that is exactly what Collective Shout and larger organizations want.

They wouldn't live alone, they would live with families from other countries, hence with different points of views and education.

I think a lot of this is some pretty knee-jerk reaction to some porn games getting delisted on Steam, a storefront that can in fact decide what it wants to sell. I find it a little funny that there's rarely been this big of a backlash over games removed/censored over violence like the MK games having issues releasing in Australia, but if it comes down to porn games or something like what happened with Stellar Blade's post-release censorship, then suddenly it's all about the totalitarian regimes and resisting monopolies or whatever.

I don't really think having some porn games taken down is going to start a slippery slope landslide where we end up only being able to play state-mandated Hello Kitty Island Adventure. If there was any right amount of legal wiggle room or social pressure that Collective Shout could exert to systematically dismantle any digital entertainment above a K-A rating, I think any of the hundreds of other people who have been crying out about corrupting video games for the last 40 years would have succeeded by now and some of those groups had the backing of actual congressmen and First Lady of America's. I understand the concept of 'first steps' and all that, but making increasingly far reaches over things that haven't happened yet I think is a little silly.

Governments would only be mediators. The families are the ones you should trust, and since those families would also send their kids overseas they would have to cooperate as well to make the system as healthy as possible. Think about it like a deal that in order to be accomplished both parts need to give the ok, so you are interested the other part gives you the ok in order to get it done.

I personally Believe that Parents should raise there own Kids with some extreme exceptions rather than giving them to Strangers to raise.And I don't trust any Family the ''Government'' would recommend.
And time for Self Discovery I would say is more when they turn 18 and are young Adults where they should move around places to see different stuff but not as kids where they are easy targets for Evil People.
Some Exception can be made of Course with sending your Kids to Family Members that life somewhere else,but only when you know them good enough and can Trust them and of Course not that long a Couple of Months at most.And I never ever trust the Government with Children not with the stuff they pull.

Mhm you are right. For example I may be personally against porn games, however I don't care how people use their own money to buy whatever they want. After all it's their money. There's lots of "illegal" stuff in modern AAA games. Look at GTA, most first-person shooters, older games like Manhunt, etc.

There's absolutely no chance in hell that they'd ever be successful in getting those games delisted or removed from any libraries. Sure, they want to - but will they? Absolutely not. Rockstar has been targeted over their games for decades, and their lawyers have bulletproofed their existence at this point. They've got every loophole in the world prepared for that situation, if it ever comes to pass.

I think that it's less what's already been taken down now (cause honestly it isn't as big a deal to me what was) and moreso how much power could be in one room to get something actually major taken down, especially in the context of who actually runs both these major corporations who secure funding for it and who runs the government. Versus a bunch of angry lonely men typing away at their keyboards because the pastiche of a woman's form didn't have the sliders in the character creator turned high enough to have a crotch reaction or said character creator saying body types.
