The screenshots thread. Show that you play

It's very good. The gameplay, art style and music are all very satisfying. The characters are charismatic and the story is told slowly as you progress the game, which keeps you wondering what will happen next. Also, the game is very generous with the items and money, so it's the perfect game to chill out. I highly recommend it ::nyamcoawards
Nicey

it's kind of experimental with what it does and if you treat it as a purely cinematic. story driven piece with moments of interactivity, it's actually not that bad and that's exactly what it set out to be.
I think this is the biggest issue about the game, watching it on Youtube may cost less technically.

My childhood game was played on a DVD player, and I could never get past it because the buttons were a little different; it was a Mega Drive controller, but it was NES games.

Undeserved hate for Mixtape online, firstly not full price, it's kind of experimental with what it does and if you treat it as a purely cinematic. story driven piece with moments of interactivity, it's actually not that bad and that's exactly what it set out to be.

IGN giving it a 10 though? idk lol
The main reason for the hate it's those high scores by the critics, giving a 10/10 for a 3 hours interactive story, when actual games like Mouse PI for hire gets a 6, for having too much cheese references of all things. It's not that Mixtape is bad on itself, it does have a good visual style and animations, but that's it. There's no replayability. No choices like most interactive story games. In the end, no reason for the overwhelming praise it received from critics

Fair points, I got you.
I am well aware of IGN's stance and the nonsensical comparative scores. they have been like that for years, so totally agree with you and it makes no real sense.
Even with the limited gameplay and lack of replay value, I still can't be too harsh on it based on the asking price right now, paid more, played worse & again at least it's got experimental flair.
Is it amazing? no is it a 10/10? no. but I must reflect on the industry as a whole, the triple A space in particular, the delivery on that front.

Yeah, it's definitely not a 10. Even if you overlook the basic gameplay that requires very little input from the player, the story and characters aren't strong enough to carry it to a 10/10. Pretty good soundtrack and art, though.

I agree, sad as it is to say, I'd rather play this than say...Pragmata for example. heresy for some i know.

Forgive the quality, this is going back a bit, I have it in my video game screenshot album but anyway, I was playing Resident Evil 2 Remake and when I shot Marvin with my shotgun…it damn well blew his pants open. I still can’t stop laughing at this, what a day.

Played Mixtape on YouTube, got headache
15 FPS The Game

That low framerate look on the models is the intended effect. really you should have known this before going in, even the trailers showcased this before launch.

edit: you played on Youtube? well... either case, that's the style. too bad.

Never heard about game/developers
So i watchit on YouTube
By scores I expect Last of Us competitor
But it's more like Life is Strange

i understand but usually by default, never trust the reviews of gaming media outlets, most of which are probably paid under the table by the developers themselves to make the product seem better than it actually is to the masses. general rule of thumb really.

If you watched gameplay on Youtube and felt It wasn't your cup of tea, that's fine, I do that too sometimes to get a sense of things.

Life is strange is a better comparison and just like that title, it's catered toward a certain audience and it worked, hence how is got sequels. again, not for everyone but there is an audience and for those just that appreciate the vibe.

It's not even a LiS1 competitor, tbh. LiS1 is one of the best at what it does, something all of the sequels could never live up to, whereas I don't see Mixtape being a game that garners such a following that they'll try to make a sequel to it. Granted, LiS should've been one and done, too. It was a time and place thing, perfect for that time where developers were trying out the episodic format, and that worked well for a while but eventually came to an end.

And I agree that the stop motion effect is terrible. Developers should've learned after South of Midnight came out and had to offer the option to turn it off. Like, I get what they're going for, and I like the idea, however it never looks good in the end.

Played some more Directive 8020, overall pretty mediocre Supermassive game. I like that it has more gameplay and less QTE's, however the gameplay is largely stealth and isn't particularly complicated. Graphically, I do think the game looks nice, definitely one of the better looking games they've made. Storytelling and characters aren't keeping me interested. Will I finish it? If I get bored, maybe.

So that's it.

My journey though the 5 Mega Man World gamss has ended, they're good, the first 3 aren't as good as the NES games but 4 (even if uses the same pattern of combine 4 Robot Masters from a game and 4 Robot Masters from his sequel) & 5 are gems (Specially 5, that feel like a alternate sequel to Mega Man 5/6).
This track represents what i am feeling right now

I'm a bit of a certified Rath hater. I think both Rathalos and Rathian are kind of boring; they don't really /do/ anything. It's really funny that World tries to treat a Rathalos as a threat and not chaff I see in low rank, only for it to job like it usually does.
But Dreadqueen Rath? Incredibly fun. I like a lot of the Rathalos/Rathian variants more than I do the base monsters. They're cool as a baseline to be built off.
