I wouldn't say I find it 'awful' more just 'not for me' but I have tried multiple times to play Ocarina of Time - both the original N64 and the 3DS version - and it's like on the one hand: I can see how influential the game was, even to thsi day, but at the same time? I've never been able to really get into it at all. I've tried but I've never even cared enough to beat it, every time I try it feels more like I'm playing it just because it's 'one of the greatest games of all time so you gotta play it and LOVE it' but I don't.
Feel like I can extend this to the other 'traditional 3D Zeldas' as well, I've never been able to get super into any of the ones I've played (Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess). The only 3D Zelda I've played that I actually got hooked by was Breath of the Wild (I still haven't played Tears of the Kingdom even though I've literally owned it for a few years now lol) and ironically those are the ones I most often see the hardcore fans of the old-style 3D Zeldas complaining about for not being what they want out of Zelda.
