The F-Zero Thread

Yeah, the cornering technique is called a Blast Turn. It's a staple maneuver in all the 2D games. Combined with the shoulder buttons you can hit some impressive angles without slowing down.
I see. I'm wondering if it's in the manual.

I'm not necessarily a fan of it but it is one of Nintendo's most difficult games ever....

At the very least it's in the F-Zero Maximum Velocity manual. I've never seen the original SNES game's manual myself.

God I miss playing F-Zero 99.

It’s been a long time since I posted here, but I’ve thought about it every now and again!
I have an awesome resource for F-Zero content that I found!
Here’s the link!

I always genuinely believed it was the most perfect way to “test the waters” of a new F-Zero game.

I love mute city theme
It's a classic (although I prefer the X version (Nicknamed "Endless Challenge" for some reasons).

It's weird how the original SNES F-zero has that sweet, jazzy soundtrack that we never hear ever again in the franchise
Most people are assuming that F-zero = heavy metal or even some high octane techno like in GX. This is what makes the first entry so unique compared to the others.

The GX OST grew on me because I used to not like it that much until quite recently (like 5 years recently).

What prevents you from playing it?
Not wanting to get NSO just to play it for a few days before moving on to something else. That, and my left joycon is a bit drifty.

Still tough as nails of a game

''Im going to bathe the circuit in blood ahahaha'' so much for a hitman sniper

Oh yeah, I suck at SNES. I find X to be brutal but better.

One thing to note: the game may seem very sensitive at first! You’ll be slipping and sliding a lot! This was a game designed around the N64’s analog stick very strongly. The N64 stick has a wider range of motions than usual joysticks. As such, it will take some time and patience to acclimate to it if you’re emulating. Stick with it though! There’s a great game of chaotic speed and fun to get into!

Yeah I have noticed that. Doesn't help that I'm always cranking the sticks to the edge (dunno if you understood what I said cuz not even I could know how to phrase that)

The SNES one is considerably easier to handle once you learn that you could press L or R then mash the B button to handle corners better. I don't know if this technique is told in the booklet but this is how I've played the game for a while.

I could manage with a Xbox 360 pad but I do agree that this game was made for this joystick in mind. Thankfully most modern emulators are taking this into account.

Shame how the Wii U VC was messed up in this regard.

Since this thread is quite old and people almost never check the previous pages I'll repost (I think) those videos showcasing Satellaview tracks:

Crossing my fingers that neither channels will close nor get striked...

The most famous and iconic thing related to F-Zero
I don't mind if the lore has been altered in this show (like how Zoda used to be human or Captain Falcon being Jody Summer's brother for some reason) yet it was nice to see how menacing Black Shadow was (he got easily overshadowed by Deathborn in GX and in X there was barely any lore outside of some data).

Okay, Dark Million and Black Shadow are very close to Shadaloo and M.Bison/Vega/Dictator but that's just a villain trope that can date back to 70's tokus.

throwback to when they made that infamous anime lol i fucking hated it so much

Infamous? I think it was decent for a video game adaption.

Infamous would be the SFII or the Darkstalker cartoon imo.

I won't let this thread die out

Here's a new video

And a neat F-zero X one
