The Café -- General Off-Topic Chat (AKA: Let's Break The Ice)

ooooooo

where do you work? is it intense? o_o
I work for a small business, and it kinda is — I'm on my feet almost the entire day, doing some 10-20 KMs a day... But I LOVE IT! I get to listen to music the whole time and go in and out of streets I have known since childhood.

Well how lovely! :)

Wishing you well

My friend (the human tornado) just told me that she has a Something Awful Archive Account.

I asked her what the fuck that was.

She told me that she paid $20 to be granted access to what's essentially the internet's shitposting archive, a paradise for people like us.

Apparently, SA had such a problem with trolls in the early aughts that they went like "fuck it" and started selling membership, as if saying "You wanna pull that shit? Pay for the privilege!".

I kinda respect it XD

The forum has been somewhat unpleasant lately, I'll have to say. I am glad to see action being taken, but at the same time it's frustrating that things always seem to get to that point but never improve past it.

Still, it's nice to see that normal activity remains strong.

Same same same, I’ve been like that for the past ten now

I get it honestly, a lot of forums have their occasional low-points, it’s just the inevitable part of any forum’s lifecycle.

Honestly? Look up a drawing or image you like, made by someone else, and try to replicate as well as you can.

It's as simple as that, if all you want to do is draw.

From my experience, starting out with tutorials or techniques or whatever, demotivates more than it helps. You can migrate to those once you get a better hang of your pen skills.

Worked for you? I could try to do that.

I wouldn't call myself a good artist, but yeah it worked for me. Personally, I still have trouble following tutorials and lessons, but that's a me thing.

How so? I'm asking seriously.

I have the memory of a lobotomized goldfish, but I don't recall anything particularly offensive.
