I've decided to take back the game just so I could do World 4 and World 7 and I think it's too bad they have locked them behind beating the World 2 and World 5 bosses as Mini Mario because they had some of the most fun and creative levels in the game. And NSMB on the DS, I feared it wouldn't age well but it's a pretty neat game

Agreed. Many people claim that Galaxy 2 is better, but it feels more like a level expansion compared to a new game. I don't like the levels quite as much (obviously there's exceptions), and the hub world being on the ship instead of having a big observatory was a big downgrade in my opinion. That said, Galaxy 2 is a masterpiece still.Galaxy 1 is definitely better than 2 yet both are great.
As much as roaming in the Ship was interesting to do I think there was more going on in the Observatory. When I finished a star I immediately went for the next Galaxy.Agreed. I've 100% Galaxy 1 three times, and Galaxy 2 twice and I agree, lol.As much as roaming in the Ship was interesting to do I think there was more going on in the Observatory. When I finished a star I immediately went for the next Galaxy.
I always felt that traveling the world map was less convenient than seeing the 5 galaxies at once per areas (although going to the engine room or cellar was also kind of annoying as you had to travel all the way up in the Observatory). I wish they allowed an option to directly choose which Galaxy to do in the Switch port.
PS: I also find that Galaxy 1 had more iconic and memorable levels and missions than 2 but I haven't done them all so I cannot fully tell.
100% as in doing every Stars then the Green Stars? They are apparently hard as hell to get.I've 100% Galaxy 1 three times, and Galaxy 2 twice and I agree, lol.
I need to try Super Mario All-Star + World someday as apparently Super Mario World has been updated (like with the Luigi sprites).Super Mario All-Star boxed with SNES is what I want.
Maybe it's a generic take, but platformers are one of my favorite genres. I love 2d platformers, and my love for 3d platformers was solidified after Mario 64.100% as in doing every Stars then the Green Stars? They are apparently hard as hell to get.
What I like about the Mario games (and Nintendo games around) is that the games are fairly easy until you go for the post-game/100% so everyone, casual and hardcore, can find their fun.

Italic titles are compilation/remakes
Not included: Yoshi's Island and its Super Mario Advance remake (it's retroactively a Yoshi franchise game), Mario Maker (I see them as spin-offs than main games with a set of level in a story) and Mario Run (a mobile game).
Platformers are a consistent genre when it comes to good franchises. Sad that many genres have changed in ways I'm not always fan of.Maybe it's a generic take, but platformers are one of my favorite genres. I love 2d platformers, and my love for 3d platformers was solidified after Mario 64.
They're like secret stars without any actual hint to get them? The green stars aren't exactly easy to get, but I certainly wouldn't consider them EXTREMELY difficult.
I wished the expansion would've provided challenges as well.Fully agreed though, Nintendo games have their own levels of difficulty depending on what the player decides to do. It's been annoying as of recently because games like Mario Wonder lacked that challenge in my opinion. Even the secret final levels I didn't find particularly hard. Still a great game but I wish there was high difficulty.
