Star Fox is back!

I wonder if they outsourced any of the development? I know Nintendo's been doing that a lot more as of late. I hope to god it wasn't the studio that worked on the Panzer Dragoon and House of the Dead remakes if so. Those turned out to be pretty ass. Nintendo has worked with them in the past, too. I think it was Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Switch that they were involved with.
Oh geez wheez, those guys? They have been BUTCHERING Sega's games the last few years. Mega Pixel Studio is a machine that takes all time great games, sucks every drop of soul and passion out, and vomits the results out. Then drops trow and takes a dump on the result, aka the Mega Pixel Seal of Quality Shit.

Oh well, another remake. What's going on? Don't they have any new ideas for anything new?

This is another case of "Successful Child Syndrome" (Trademark Pending) due to Starfox 64 being the best selling game out of the entire franchise. Also I think after Star-Fox Command being the absolute blunder for a lot of the bone-head decisions specifically in the story might be a contributing issue for the many 64 retreads being so common.

I feel like this new variant will somehow tie into bringing Star Fox to the cinema format. Or maybe a TV show? I dunno how the current Nintendo management thinks nowadays.

oh boy, more remakes. my favourite.

Ah sweet!
Nintendo: REMAKE STAR FOX 64!
My reaction:

Wow way to kill my hype. God forbid we get a sequel to the Assault timeline, or Zero, or at least port Zero and make it work without the god awful controls. I guess im asking for too much to add the female pilots like in 2 and Assault. Im sure everyone would enjoy Krystal if she was a playable character again.
Im honestly pissed off they are remaking 64 for the third fucking time and probably charge the game 80 united states dollars for a game that had 2 remakes already.
Star Fox Adventures sucks, and I’ll forever be mad about its existence, since the original concept (Dinosaur Planet) was infinitely more compelling and had the potential to be Rareware’s magnum opus, and had the potential to be, alongside games like Okami, one of the best 3D Zelda clones. Instead, it became a mediocre 3D Zelda clone with a Star Fox skin, with the entire story and lore completely gutted.

Star Fox Assault is cool though, good game.

An special Direct to announce a remake of a popular installment for Switch 2 only. Sad Switch 1 are in the same course of forget of PS4 and XBox One.

Easy Nintendo could be create a less graphical edition for the first Switch, as not everyone have money to buy one unit(as there are many who tries to win sweepstakes to get one Switch 2 in the same naive of PS5).

i enjoyed it for what it was, there would have been 2 different timelines and I think if the game remained as Dinosaur Planet it would have been a flop since at the time, the N64 was already out the door. Or it would have been a unfinished creation like SF Adventures. I can't see the game being made in good light in any timeline, not that it couldn't happened mind you. ::thumbsupwario

The characters look like the puppets from star fox 1 but in 2026 cgi
Yeah, see, I thought that too. I don't know what everyone's complaining about with the graphics, maybe it isn't just Nintendo that forgot about the SNES Star Fox, but the fans too.

Star Fox is going to be priced around $30 digital / $40 physical
Okay, if it's genuinely being priced this low, somethings up. This might not even be a proper game release, and more of a test for something like Zone of the Enders or Battle Fantasia. This might explain (but not justify) making it another Star Fox remake, since it would be a safe investment (with an already established framework to base assets and design on).

I honestly would have preferred it if the game was a cult classic that flopped like Conker instead of becoming a Star Fox game, because honestly, if they’d had a few more months to polish it in 2001 and released the game in mid-to-late 2001, Dinosaur Planet would be remembered fondly as a cult classic that pushed the N64 to its limits and, overall, would have been better received by critics and the public.

Idk man. The story and lore of Dinosaur Planet is so cool, interesting, and impressive coming from Rareware (especially since Rareware isn't a studio known for making games with incredibly deep or elaborate stories or lore). It really saddens me how Star Fox Adventures completely gutted the entire story and lore of the original concept, leaving it as basically just a shell of what it was supposed to be.

I think this might just be a reintroduction to the series. again, given that another star fox is said to be in development according to the same leaks that predicted this one

>64 again
Nobody asked for this.

This is how Star Fox will look like in 2013.

"Errm but it look like da heckin puppets from the first ga-"

Bro i don't give a fuck if the character designs are based on an obsure design from the first game, Simon Belmont in Judgement is clearly based on CV1's instruction manual and still looks like ass.

Fair to say that rumored OoT remake is also true, and i weep for it.

I'm so torn on this. I'm happy there's a new game to this franchise, but I don't understand why Nintendo thought they had to remake 64 yet again. Its not like the story in 64 is incredibly deep that newcomers to the series would be absolutely lost if they didn't first experience StarFox 64.
This game now has the unfair disadvantage of being compared to 64, which itself is such a genuinely charming game that it easily makes the new game look like its trying too hard to be "cool". Like, all the new lines I heard don't sound as good as the original ones. It just all seems unnecessary. This game did not need to be remastered a third time. They could and SHOULD have made a sequel. The kids that missed out on 64 aren't losing out and may even revisit 64 if they like this one. And 64 is still holds up well!

I'll buy it, of course
, as I'm sure it will be a fun time (and I look forward to shooting down fools online) but Nintendo has to offer more here. By today's standards, 64 is pretty lite on content. This new version needs more planets, more branching paths, more secrets and bosses. If its literally the exact same game but with updated graphics, it will be a missed opportunity and possibly lead to poor reception.
