You deserve two props. One for bringing up Hitoshi Sakimoto, he's worked on a bunch of games and doesn't get enough credit. His work with Masaharu Iwata is some of my favorite video game music of all time.During the PS1, Sega Saturn, and N64 era, the larger format allowed for more complex music, enabling talented composers like Nobuo Uematsu, Michiru Yamane, and Hitoshi Sakimoto to create great soundtracks. However, Silent Hill stands out for its atmospheric integration of music and gameplay. While intricate music can sometimes distract from the game, Silent Hill's soundtrack enhances the experience with its minimalist approach, deepening the overall atmosphere.
And you deserve props for bringing up (Forbidden) Siren's soundtrack. I don't think I've ever heard someone talk about it before, but it's some real good stuff. All three games have great soundtracks, but the first game's stuck with me the most. Probably because the game kicked my ass and I had to hear the tracks many times. :VSiren's entire soundtrack is 50% of its terror, it makes you imagine all sorts of things, I remember the dread i felt when entering the rice fields..
I didHopefully someone will find something to like in here.
