Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped bell pepper
  • ½ cup chopped mushrooms (some versions include this, others don't)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (23 oz or 15 oz) can crushed tomatoes (the size may vary slightly between recipes)
  • 8 ounces barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 (16 oz or 15 oz) can red kidney beans (drained)
  • Hot dogs
  • Hot dog buns
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Directions
  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pan.
  2. Add the onions, peppers, and mushrooms (if using) and brown lightly.
  3. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, crushed tomatoes, and barbecue sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, and drained kidney beans. Continue to simmer for another hour.
  5. Add the hot dogs to the chili and cook for 15 minutes in the sauce.
  6. Toast the hot dog buns.
  7. Place the hot dogs in the toasted buns, generously top with the chili, and add shredded cheddar cheese if desired.

Isn't it about speed?
The secret to classic Sonic is that it isn't really about speed, it was just a platformer with a higher top speed cap than most, and momentum-based physics. Not saying you implied this, but I have seen people in the past play the games, then get annoyed that a game about speed requires them to stop and make some careful moves. I always found this a bit of an odd way to look at the games, as they're annoyed not at the game, but at their misconception of what the game was going to be.

Anyway, Adventure style kicks ass, specifically the physics in SA2. I'm not sure what happened when they went multi-platform, but the controls in Heroes onward never felt nearly as good. My pet theory is that requiring the characters to control well both in the stages as well as the Chao Garden resulted in a much tighter control scheme at all speeds, something that later games lost.

Frontiers for me. It is the most fun I've had playing a mainline Sonic game, and it actually let me finish the game at my own pace. I could and did ignore most of the "boost" style stages, instead focusing on fishing and exploring the open zones. Now I just want a sequel that tweaks some of the rougher aspects and is maybe set in a different environment without the weird floating platforms.

Classic and Boost

Boost is just Adventure but with the option to go faster. That's a plus, not a minus.

I thought Frontiers was boring.

Best Sonic games:

Sonic X Shadow Generations
Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Formula 1 ? just kidding.

But honestly I grew up with Sonic 1-2 on mega drive and liked it but the older I got the more I dislike the game series in general.

For one reason only we are talking about a fast running blue hedgehog in a bloody platformer. Honestly kind of pisses me of there so much platforming and jumping and what not it just feel like a super mario slow ass game with some 5 seconds speed bumps here and there to make it feel like he is fast.

Either quit pretending he is fast and do regular fun platformer games or make more games where you utilizes his speed much much more meaning less stops to jump and shit.

Great explanation!

Sonic Colours is better than Gens.

Recent version of Colours was bad anyway.
Better play the Wii version on Dolphin with 60 fps patch
Sonic remasters in general suck. DX is terrible, and Battle isn't great. The Sonic Gens remaster looks fine in terms of gameplay, but for some stupid reason they changed the dialogue.

I like Unleashed as a spectacle but not as a game. Replayed a good chunk of it recently. It did not age well. The day stages look great and have cool setpieces. The actual level design is horrible. All flash, no substance. Watching someone else play would give me nearly the same experience.

They have photos from the game's release with Yuji Naka!
