Maybe using some pixel art, a little bit more akin to the site's theme, would be a good idea? Really not sure if that'd be possible, since custom-made art can be expensive. But it'd be a welcome addition.

I'm a billion percent sure there's a sprite of like a Mario glove or a Final Fantasy glove doing the thumbs up when like saving/loading a game but I can't for the life of me find it. Would be a perfect replacement to the normal like thumb.

that's a bit of a challenge, but i think its doable. it would take some time though. there's enough people on here that some results will start popping up before you know it.

Here's a thumbs-up. It's from Mario & Luigi Super Star Saga, I just removed Mario's arm and added the rest of the outline so the editing is extremely minimal. Looking for 'sad' and 'thanks' too. It might be a bit small though, since it's a 32x32 sprite, but the hand itself is a little smaller inside of that. Could probably be altered though.

This is the lifebar from Yoshi's Story when it runs out. It was the first thing I thought of when thinking of a 'sad' sprite, but I'm sure there are even better ones. Trying to not only think of Nintendo stuff but they're the first things that spring to mind.
I like how horrified it looks though.
