Done Some custom emojis/reaction symbols to liked posts/threads

Maybe using some pixel art, a little bit more akin to the site's theme, would be a good idea? Really not sure if that'd be possible, since custom-made art can be expensive. But it'd be a welcome addition.

Hmm, that's a good question. My first guess would be something Castlevania-esque, since I can think of no better franchise that consistently delivered on that regard. Maybe something Square-related, during the SNES Era? Something that looks like it came straight from Chrono Trigger?

Anyway a question related to the thread; what does the "flame" reaction (emoji) mean? I honestly think it's useless. Couldn't it be replaced with "?" (positive or negative surprise), or "?" (friendly agreement), or even "?" (ironic criticism)? Greetings.

Fire means amazing, good, fun, exciting. Example: “That song is fire!” or “This song is lit!”.
I think I can add some of your suggestions too.

Chief, in all honesty, I would remove ? and ?, because they are harbingers of controversy, conflict, spite, anger or frustration. I would leave only the positive reactions, to promote a spirit of harmony, brotherhood and solidarity.
Anyway I have never seen them used.
If you don't like a post, just snub it.

I would perhaps add ? when you appreciate but don't fully grasp something and you remain perplexed, or ??‍ embarrassed by someone's brazen attitude (like mine often ?).

having flat design emojis as reaction symbols on a retro gaming forum seem insanely out of place

i would swap out all 9 of those with more appropriate images such as ripped video game sprites or at the very least 2000s style smileys

and 2000s style emojis already are on the forum (<- those ones would be great as reaction symbols i guess)

This community is filled with all types of artists, from all over, who may be willing to support this Site further. Why not somebody put up a Major Thread, asking if anybody who knows sprite work or whatever type of art you want to use. Are willing to create custom emoji's for this Website. Also by doing this, it could help strengthen this community, trust-wise and more, by showing such openness. Some on here already post art, with great reception.

I also like the Idea of ripping sprites. Maybe something like this? I worry a little about the visibility though. Even though the current ones are boring, you know what they are at a glance.

I'd like it to have representation of a bunch of classic retro stuff across all platforms but it was hard finding good sprites that represent an emotion in some games. At the opposite end, Super Star Saga probably has sprites to replace everything.

I'm fine with the switch to retro gaming-themed reactions, but I really think some sort of heart should remain.
It's such a valuable reaction to use to show that you really genuinely like something, instead of the more casual/indifferent but positive thumbs up. If we're going with retro sprites we could use a heart container. This one for example is from Zelda: Minish Cap, I think:

Yeah I saw, I just think the heart tank from MMX is kind of ugly (and would read poorly as a small icon since it's only pink in the middle and I assume most use the dark theme), and there was already one reaction suggested from Megaman so I wanted to provide an alternative which is still very much retro game themed :)

There was a bit of a problem with the ? one. It was counting incorrectly or something.
