"One must imagine Sisyphus happy"

Monday, December 30th, 2024:

After 19 days, Gorse got his internet connection back.

;)🔫
Pics or it didn’t happen
Edit: I’m not actually sure why I said that, almost like you claiming you have internet is something you’ll be held accountable for at a court of law. “Your honor, this man does NOT have internet”

Genuinely Gorgeous. I love styff like this. I need to visit Europe one day.
It's called Mains Castle, inherited by the aristocratic Erskine family as a clan seat of the Grahams of Claverhouse - also near the site where the Battle of Bonnie Dundee was held with the Jacobites. It is still used for weddings and parties from time to time.

This is Broughty Ferry Castle, located in the affluent suburb of the same name. The area was home to the first millionaires row in the world. The castle is from the 11th century, built to stop Viking invasions.

This is Glamis Castle, located around 30 minutes outside of Dundee. It's massive.

As someone who's always lived in the new world, the fact that you actually live in a place where you can see stuff like this IN REAL LIFE makes my head explode. I want to spend the rest of my life exploring millennia-old architecture like this.

You might love it here actually, we still really often camp out in tents in the desert for recreational purposes xD. Cooking food with real fire is an experience!

Dundee is a bit of a concrete jungle, our town mayor owned a demolition company and during the post-war era of the '50s decided to knock down all the buildings. Most of the old architecture here are late 18th century tenement blocks.

What a wonderful place! I'm a real fan of this kind of structure and the whole historical background behind them. Here where I live, there´s not such a thing like that, I've only seen them in games, movies, magazines and books. I need to be there and experience some soft combat duel, at least.

I couldn't stand another day being depressed, thinkin I failed her and drown in guilt and sorrow. I took off and enrolled into a boxing gym, I punched so hard and learned to shadowbox, I'm still getting the hang of it.

It's one of the few things that gives me any semblance of patriotic pride for this godforsaken joke of a country.

x.x as someone who never seen a castle in person I think those places in the pics look dropdead gorgeous and are definitely something to be proud of!

Today, our group gathered for a true retro gaming celebration—a fighting night on the legendary Sega Dreamcast! The atmosphere was complete with original fight stick controllers, taking us back to the golden era of arcade battles.

The stars of the evening were, of course, Dead or Alive 2 and Soul Calibur—timeless classics that remain benchmarks of the fighting genre. But we didn’t stop there! We also recorded images of other iconic fighting games that were released on the Dreamcast.

I won’t list them all, but here are a few that brought us the most joy and laughter:

Project Justice — a crazy and energetic school brawler with unique characters.
Psychic Force 2012 — a fighting game that broke the mold with battles in 3D space.
Fighting Vipers 2 — a touch of madness where you could break your opponent’s armor, adding an extra layer of fun to the fights.

What about Guilty Gear and Kenju? A Marvel vs capcom or a Capcom vs SNK? Did you play them guys? By the way, keep enjoying and have lotta fun. It looks like a fun crew. It's been a long time since I gathered with my own dudes.

Thank you for the kind words! We’ve noticed that both for me and for our company, we prefer games in full 3D. We don’t appreciate the style of games like Street Fighter or Capcom vs Marvel as much, since most of us grew up on Tekken 3 and Dead or Alive. Our tastes, accordingly, are more oriented toward dynamic and immersive 3D battles.

That room looks super cozy! The buddy who's place me and my friends would hang at moved out of country a few years back and while he's back for now, he's still on the opposite coast so not conducive for meetups. I would like to get a living room setup with some old consoles for this at some point!
