Game Description:

Silent Hill 2: Director's Cut is a Survival Horror/Third Person Shooter video game developed by Team Silent and published by Konami released on December 2nd, 2002 for the Microsoft Windows.

The player is cast in the role of James Sunderland, an at first sight normal person who got confused, as anyone else would, when he received a letter from his wife asking him to come to Silent Hill, their special place. The only problem is that his wife died three years ago, and has kept the secrets surrounding her death. James decides to honor the letter's request, wondering if this is a sick joke or if there is more to this. As James reaches the outskirts of the town, he finds that the road is blocked, and parks at an abandoned restroom. Little does he realize that this is the first step forward into the mystery of Silent Hill and his own past.

Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game. The gameplay is similar to that of the first installment. The player navigates James around the town of Silent Hill and collects weapons, health-restoring items, and objects needed to solve puzzles in an unlimited inventory. A radio alerts James when enemies are near. Like the protagonist of the first game, James is not very skillful in combat; he can fight with basic melee weapons or firearms with scarce ammunition. Most of the puzzles are logic-based and are often shaped like riddles, though there are a few simple inventory-based tasks as well.

While the basic concept is the same as in the previous entry, the game is set in a part of town that was unexplored in it, and the weapons and enemies are mostly new as well. Also new is the ability to change the standard "survival horror" (character-dependent) controls into the more widespread, 3D (camera-dependent) navigation. The difficulty level can be adjusted separately for combat and puzzles.

Note: Silent Hill 2: Director's Cut's main difference from the plain version is that it contains a scenario called "Born from a Wish" also known as the Maria Mini-game. Playing as Maria you find out a bit more about her and her purpose in Silent Hill.

  2. Use SH2EEconfig.exe to configure the huge list of various options (most can be left as default but there are a few you might would consider changing, so look through them all)
  3. Make sure Launch using: is pointing to sh2pc.exe and click Save & Launch Game to play
  4. EZ PZ there you go, enjoy
The team has a nice little controller layout guide thing on their page you can check out here for the different controller types. However, you can easily change the button layout in the game options.

Make your options look similar to the screenshot of the graphics options to make them what I think is the best look for it.

Your PC uploads have been glorious. Thanks @CSmith327
Second this. CSmith327 is doing the lord's work.

Also, I'm usually pretty iffy on "enhanced versions" like this. Older games were made for the TVs/monitors of the time. Upping the resolution and texture quality has the effect of making things look cleaner, but also kind of cursed. It's like making a Blu-ray version of an old movie from the 80s. Yeah, the picture quality is great, but now you can see all the seams on the creature costumes and the strings on all the models.

Still, I want to give this a go. I just wish people making these kinds of edits wouldn't default to "BETTER RESOLUTION, BETTER GAME!!!!!!!!"

which version,i don’t remember a year but have 2 x-men game port on pc,one is original from psp and one is from ps4,may i remember wrong?
They mean this game. It seems something worth adding since it was delisted from all stores and can't be bought anymore

is there a mods for this or hack cheat that enable infinite ammo and invincibility always on without using a trainer?
You can load custom modded asi scripts into the game for all kinds of things. I don't know how to do all that, but it was a feature they added into this. It uses ThirteenAG's Ultimate ASI Loader for it (it's modded into it I think)

I don't care for Riddick but maybe the X-Men one I might sometime? I just really don't like Vin Diesel
