If there's a godhood underflow you will become the head honcho.I've been cancelled by the gods themselves
Nothing can stop me now
Yes and no? I mean no to current product but if the product is old and they're probably not getting any royalties from it like say buying from second hand sellers then I say go for it. I have the complete collection of Rurouni Kenshin the mega volumes. Now just google that series and look at the author and read his charge and the minor fine he received. In all honesty I think I'm more disgusted by the legal system's handling than the fact he basically took a mini vacation from his new work on the series and was able to continue with little to no hassle. That's his new series not the old that I have so I can easily not consume that content but what does that mean for the anime I watched and manga I currently have?
I can't part with them, at least not now. He might have created the manga but more people were involved with the anime that I consumed more of and Kenshin was one of my many anime husbandos. It's hard to put hate to someone I cherished that had no control on his master's doings. I'll probably sell them one day (I saw one of them go for $40 bucks) but until then I'll keep Kenshin on my shelf.
I have no horse in this race, but I do want to point out that there have been attempts to posthumously cancel John Wayne.Could authors that passed away get cancelled at some point?
They already try doing that (without success of course) despite the fact that they keep milking these creators' works. Michael Jackson is the most famous example of that.Could authors that passed away get cancelled at some point?

This thread will probably locked so here's my comment.
Could authors that passed away get cancelled at some point? Would it mean that any form of art should be monitored so only approved ones get released?
Maybe I'm going overboard but this is what some older dystopic books were talking about.
It seems a bit redundant, trying to cancel someone that time has already ended imo.It really doesn't make sense to do that. If you go too far back in history we get to authors that have done really heinous things such as own slaves or kill people from other races or religions when it was more acceptable to do so.
That's too late to even attempt that.I have no horse in this race, but I do want to point out that there have been attempts to posthumously cancel John Wayne.
I've always been confused about that debacle and while I'm not a big fan I just don't see what it would bring to tell everyone that listen to his music that he was problematic. They already try doing that (without success of course) despite the fact that they keep milking these creators' works. Michael Jackson is the most famous example of that.
The way of thinking millennia ago wasn't the same as today (and thankfully). It really doesn't make sense to do that. If you go too far back in history we get to authors that have done really heinous things such as own slaves or kill people from other races or religions when it was more acceptable to do so.
My stance on censorship is simple, if your religious text of choice is allowed in stores and schools why should any other book be banned then? All texts should be allowed to stand not as a challenge to morality of being put on display but to a challenge to people themselves that consume it.This thread will probably locked so here's my comment.

Also same thing with Jonny Depp even if the story has been concluded (yet Disney will never make another Caribbean Pirate movie ever).
Yeah. I didn't follow the full case but some people straight up stopped to review movies starring him because of that.Wasn't Johnny Depp slandered by Amber Heard? Or was there a different case against him?
Agreed. I remember WWE coming under fire for this after unpersoning Chris Benoit years ago, as by doing so they also erased a chunk of Eddie Guerrero's WWE legacy indirectly. Also I'd want to say that no longer re-releasing a movie after one main actor getting cancelled is kinda awful towards the rest of the staff who worked hard.
Yea but Eddie is still seen and recognized as a hall of famer and still gets mentioned Chris not so muchAgreed. I remember WWE coming under fire for this after unpersoning Chris Benoit years ago, as by doing so they also erased a chunk of Eddie Guerrero's WWE legacy indirectly.
