Vertigo
(1958)
"My wife, Madeline, has several pieces of jewelry that belonged to Carlotta. She inherited them. She never wore them, they were too old-fashioned. Until now. Now when she's alone, she takes them out and looks at them, handles them gently, curiously. Puts them on and stares at herself in the mirror. And goes into that other world, is someone else again."
"Well, when she goes to these places-"
"She's no longer my wife."
Incredible movie, this was my very first experience with Alfred Hitchcock's films and it won't be the last, there were scenes I had replayed twice, thrice times over in my first watch because I couldn't get enough of the vice grip the plot and the characters had over me alongside the stunning cinematography in these shots. It is simply gorgeous, and an incredible lens through the human mind. I was most entranced with the Carlotta part with the plot.
Next movie is Varan the Unbelievable in 1958, time to go back to kaijus, my first love.
