Is there a series you wanted to try, but ended up not liking—even after trying different entries?

For me, it’s Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. I’m just not a fan of the dark vibes those series have.

That’s all I can think of for now. How about you?

I'm too stupid to play Carnage Heart series. But goddamn I want to get into this shit so bad.

God of War (the original games, not God of War (2018) and Ragnarök, since I’ve never played those) I’m a huge fan of Hack and Slash games, especially DMC, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta, but I could never bring myself to enjoy the original God of War games. I played both God of War 1 and 2 and found their gameplay and mechanics to be pretty lackluster when compared to DMC 3, 4, and 5, Ninja Gaiden I and II, and Bayonetta 1 and 2.

The Lego games, any of them

Dont know why but i just get bored very fast all of them feels the same for me

From Lego Batman to the Marvel ones to the Star Wars

  • Any MMX game aside from 1, 4, and 5. MMZ i didn't even try. The same for Legends or any other spin off.
  • Halo
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Crysis 1 only.
  • Far Cry at 2 and after.
  • Yakuza/LAD
  • Kunio-Kun/River City
  • Scott Pilgrim brawlers. The first game especially, I do not like. I have zero interest in EX.
  • Assassin's Creed after Brotherhood and Black Flag. Play either Ghost Of Tsushima or Yotei games on Playstation 4 & 5 respectively. It shows how weak and pathetic the franchise has become. Then, we have to do much to begin with. But the passion sucker punch puts into both titlesc shows you how much ubisoft is lacking as a whole.
  • God of War OG. Especially III.
  • Darksiders
  • Final Fantasy, Persona, and Dragon Quest.
  • Pokemon after Crystal.

Mega Man Legends is my favorite childhood trilogy, and still is top 10 in current day. Never really enjoyed any of the main-line Mega Man platformer ones, though. Could just never get in to them the same way other people do. I liked Battle Network a lot, too, but that's a complete spin off as well.

I played one game in the Pokemon (Sapphire) and Yakuza (3) series, and thought they were neat, but after that one game, every other one just felt like the same thing over and over again. In Pokemons case, it was the same but less.

I was bullied in to starting the Legend of Heroes series from Trails. It was a mistake, because it set expectations. They were far from perfect, but I still really liked them. The dip in writing quality and pandering in the series from Cold Steel and onwards was enough for me to turn it from some of my favorite JRPG games to games I just outright don't play.

I feel like I've made a lot of enemies today.

Please don't start the hate...

E33 licks my nan's bottom lip. First I'm French (which is one of the worst thing I can think of)
and I'm getting my ass handed to me by mimes with the games crappy combat system.
Sorry lovers, but someone should put this turd where it belongs. I'd rather play with
a jar full of toenail clippings.

For me it has always been Resident Evil (and survival horror in general), they don't click for me.
Understandable. Aside from og RE2, the DS version of RE1, and sometimes og RE1R & RE3, i really don't bother with a lot of the classic RE games. I don't like RE4, RE6, RE7, and RE8 is marginally better, but I felt no need to do a second playthrough ever again.

GTA
Metal Gear (Except Metal Gear Rising)
Soulslike
Resistance (Except Resistance Retribution)
Nordic God of War
The last of us
Uncharted
Horizon
Infamous
COD
Halo
Elder of scrolls. I really enjoyed Fallout 3,4 and new vegas, but Skyrim and other games just didn't click for me.

Hitman: I just don't have the patience to pull off the more creative kills myself, and I enjoy watching other people play these games more than playing them myself.

Monster Hunter: I've tried a couple of times, and the mainline gameplay doesn't really grab me. Maybe if I tried it out with people to play with? ::thinking I love the monster designs, and at least it has the Stories spin-offs of more traditional creature collecting RPGs. Those are more my speed.

Animal Crossing, I really love the Harvest Moon games and thought well, it's a cozy game and life sim, right up my alley; But I just couldn't get into any of the games for some reason, and I really wanted to, they look fun but just don't click with me.

Kingdom Hearts, all the times i tried i get bored, one day i try again
No need to think of a reply, I'll just quote: Persona, I can't stand the heavy devil references and the dark theme, KH I think I played the psp title but didn't feel the need to play more, Carnage Heart EXA on psp same words of the other user, I would like to play it but it's really complicated for me!

Monster Hunter

Sort of curious of what about MH that pulled you away? It took a few years and several games to get me hooked on to it's loop as well. There's a lot of padding early game to prepare you for the more harrowing late game, to the point where people consider the first ~10-30 hours or so to just be a tutorial. And, yeah, without friends it wouldn't be the same since there's no sort of ally/rival mentality when you're just solo. When I'm with homies I make builds to align and keep up with them, and sometimes want to get ahead of them.

The friendly competition with the gameplay loop of gearing up to take on bigger and far more stressful hunts, the feeling of accomplishment when I've mastered a monster to the point of wearing their whole armor set, contrasted with the calm and relaxing nature of our home village as we prep for our next hunt is what hooked me.
