Rise and Shine,The Nintendo Switch 2 is Finally Out Yo,But...

Oops! I actually meant the size: I almost got blind playing in handheld mode... :ROFLMAO:
But the Switch OLED screen is 7", while Switch 2 screen is 7,85". That shouldn't make a lot of difference. I've seen regular Switch vs OLED Switch screen size and it's also not a big difference :O

I own the first Switch, so between it and Switch 2 there is a bit of difference ;->

But when the original switch came out, it wasn't $200 and it still sold out. I have no investment in whether Switch 2 thrives or not, but let's not pretend like Nintendo came in low back in 2017?
It was $299.99, $150 less less than the Switch 2, and games were $60. Also, $95 for a controller is absolutely insane. If you're a parent with more than one kid, that's a lot of money. You're looking at over $600 for the system, an extra controller, and one game.

I agree with you that it's too much, at least for me, but I can't speak to anyone else's financial situations. The systems have sold, so apparently not everyone else thinks so. A new console launch is always going to sell through immediately, and if it ends up being widely panned or something, they could go the route they did with 3DS and drop the price with some kind of free downloads as a make good to early adopters. But for right now, they're getting away with it because they can, and we all know this. So you vote with your wallet, that's all you can do. Because Nintendo is not beholden to the consumers to provide a low price if the market shows they don't have to, sadly.

As far as software, not every switch game was $60, and not every switch 2 game will be $80. First-party stuff typically doesn't go on sale often with Nintendo, but maybe this price point will be the thing that forces it to happen, so long as people don't go "but I need to play mario kart right this second" and buy in at full price. I think what's going to happen is a chance for smaller and cheaper titles to shine, and I really hope they do. But the reaction to $80 like it's some new thing... there were $79 SNES games. $99 MSRP games on the Genesis, and that's 1990s money. They'll only try it if they think they can get it. I don't know what else to say. I'm not buying one, that's all I can do. ::cirnoshrug
