RGT's Video Game Trivia

i mean it's a balance, if the questions were just stuff like "what year did sonic the hedgehog release" then the first person to come across it would be up over and over again. i feel like the 2nd one from my last round was reasonable. and as has been demonstrated you don't even need to know all of them to have a chance.
i'd argue that your second question is the hardest of those 3, if i was reading the correct post. i can't name the guy who makes mario music, let alone other composers form other games and companies.
there is a wario game for the virtual boy, mario tennies[?] and waterworld are the only three i can think of for the handheld console, and i will pick d. drivers for computer mice for the From Software company answer.
those are my best guesses.

Maybe the rule could be something like "5 questions, if you answer 3, you win the round and it's your turn"... something like that?

that might be too many questions to make up, i feel like 3/4 makes more sense. though this thread's operated on a 2/3 ever since i put it 5 and a half feet underground

i mean tbf i feel like not knowing a single video game composer outside of those 3 i mentioned is kinda unusual for the kind of person who goes to this forum.

I only care to know Kenji Ito, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Nobuo Uematsu, Yoko Shimomura, and Jeremey Soule because my ears have been trained to pick out their styles. Only one of those would have been valid. Anything else like what's been listed for past few turns has been stuff I'd have to look up to have chance which ruins the point of trivia or the few times I see I can answer on my phone at work it's already moved onto to another set of questions when I come back from from work.

Now newcomers won't have a fun avenue to try to rank up in with the move. I like the 2/3 minimum required to move onto the next set of questions with a minimum set of hours passed to go on without the poster's confirmation of correct answers due to time zones differences as it ran before.

i had an idea a little while ago. i don't know how good of an idea it is; but i'll lay out what i thought of.
why not have a difficulty setting to the questions. easy, normal and hard essentially. and then something like cuphead or dark souls for insanely difficult questions.
each poster could put down like 1-3 of each for whatever rank they want; and then someone could respond to that post and then carry on more or less like before.
or make each difficulty its own thread.
this might help a bit.

Yeah I would say if you split by difficultly it would need it's own thread because the rest of the questions might be ignored for the easiest answers to jump into new turns.

On the initial thread creation I actually covered all these rules & what I was kinda looking for. It really was just "keep it fun & fast!". I've also been trying to set examples with all my questions, but I guess trying to convey the easiness & simplicity of them is a bit hard. Oh well!

fuck it since it looks like this thread isn't getting moved back and thus hoyo can't do shit i'll reboot us with some easy ones:

1. what does the acronym GOG stand for?
2. name any launch title for the playstation 1-3
3. fill in the blanks of these video game names:
b***mania
***assin's creed

1.Good old games!
2. Lair, the dragon game!
3. Beatmania, but everybody knows Assasins Creed lol.

i went back and read the first post. it was clear, but it didn't seem to take very long for everyone to pick contra level questions to ask other people on here. i think every so often, you might have to come in and just post some easy questions to get the ball rolling again as the saying goes.

1. What's this pokemon's correct name!

Ratacate / Ratacata / Raticate / Raticata

2. PS2, Gamecube & Xbox are part of which video game console generation?

3. Name me any game that can use the Dreamcast's microphone!

#1 - option 3
#2 - generation 5
#3 - Seaman

You know what? Just go ahead @MasterEn . I don't think you've asked asked questions before anyway. Got Raticate & Seaman right anyway, even though PS2 etc. was actually 6 gen stuff.

I actually thought those consoles were 5 gen myself (before googling), so there's no way in hell I can wrong you there lol.

huh, i was certain that gcn, ps2 and xbox were 5th gen. then again, i don't particularly care for that kind of stuff.
okay. i'll try to think of a couple of questions and i'll make a post in a few minutes.

okay. i got a few questions:

1. name the first three pikmin types in pikmin 1.

2. how many ship parts are necessary to get the good ending? close guesses are acceptable. [there are 30 parts in total in the game. it tells you this at the beginning in the like first 2 minutes; so, not a spoiler or anything.]

3. according to the movie, what are mario and Luigi's last name?

bonus: true or false? the honeywisp does not appear in the wistful wilds in pikmin 2.

1. red, yellow, uhhh... purple?
2. 30?
3. mario

1. close. red and yellow are correct. purples were introduced in the second game.
2. techinically correct. 30 gets you the perfect ending. i guess i should have worded that one a bit better. there's a minimum amount of parts that still get you a good ending. getting less than that gets you the bad ending.
3. perfect.
