Gamecube or Wii?

So, I posted about this on my profile, but no-one has replied. So I'm making a thread to ask the question that since the Gamecube is regarded as the most high quality and functioning of the sixth generation of consoles, should I go for that or the Wii, which is basically a fancier Gamecube with motion controls?

I believe you answered your own question. The Wii is the better form, can run both gens and virtual console games if you do so wish. Plus having 480p natively is nice.

It depends. Typically, I recommend the Wii because you get both Gamecube and Wii, Wii Shop digital games, a bunch of emulators, and it's insanely easy to soft mod.

That said, Gamecube does have slightly better image quality.

GameCube but I'm being bias as I have only played my kids Wii maybe a dozen times and I hate the controller

you can fix some of the image issues on a wii by loading your games through usb loader gx and turning the deflicker filter off! and once you have that solved, it's much nicer to use as an all-in-one platform as compared to gamecube, although my flippydrive just came in so I'm about to be back to the lunchbox after leaving it on the shelf like six years ago

If it makes you feel better i still use the same wii remote that came with it. Only thing i replace was the safety strap, back when Nintendo offered replacements for free

Yeah deffo Wii, Gamecube controllers and memoy cards are also compatible plus combine the Twilight Hack to mod the system... La creme' da la fromage.
