Reuters: Grand Theft Auto VI could cement the $80 standard in AAA

GTA the most boring game series I ever seen with the largest fans base in human history.

80 bucks have been standard for over a year now GTA 6 will not cement shit but it means AAA companies will be delusional and think they can keep charing 80 bucks for their they then they will complain when they join Ubitards in losing several billions.

And they will blame us for not spending money on their trash.

So even if I hate GTA series I must thank Rockstar for making the AAA industry for committing suicide.
damn so harsh and yet i agree wholeheartedly! because it's so true.

It sure does. Except the original post was using the US pricing as the base for the conversation.. so you are kind of just being a pedant about it xD. You know what they meant.

"The Cost going forward for AAA games may be $80 (as in USD) Cause of GTA6!"

You: "It's already $80 as the standard! (unsaid caveat that we are all supposed to just know being 'in the rest of the world')"

Me: "No it isn't... in America (which the original poster was using as a baseline and you hadn't corrected for out loud) only Nintendo is really trying that so far.

You: "I mean OUTSIDE of America!"

Now how were we supposed to know that is what you meant at the time? Come on now. You know what you did.

If we really want to be that way, You Europeans need to stop making it all about you! What is the converion in Pesos!? Not only that.. but the standard for the US being $80 would presumably mean the converion in Euros would be even HIGHER, so your argument still doesn't make sense.
You are on a forum with several internationalizes. Yes the main topic was in dollars as the dang article was written by routers. But looking at the WORLD STANDARD game prices has been 80 dollar for a a few years now WORLD STANDARD. POINT is games have been more expensive for the past 5 years not my fault USA is behind every one else.

So my point still stands GTA 6 will not CEMENT 80 dollar standard across the world market but it might do so in USA but the game is sold world wide.

Also Pesos? I fucking said Swedish kroner.

Without regional pricing, that shit will effectively cost $120~$140 in my ass country accounting wage, inflation, and buying power, even if purely on conversion will be exact $80. And Rockstars isn't the type of company that would be kindly to put regional pricing.

Honestly, with current situation of video game industry, anything above $30 is a no-go, and if I wanted to play new shiny, there's always my Soon™ jailbroken PS5.

And they will blame us for not spending money on their trash.

Well you see, you have to be REAL FANS to buy this.

Yeah.. the Pesos comment was my point... You are thinking about YOUR standard while claiming to care about the world market. I'm asking you to do the conversion for other places you don't live since you are so concerned with the WORLD economy.

And all right then, $80 may no longer be the world standard. It will be even higher, is my guess as to what will happen.

Between this and Gabecube being $1,200 US dollars I think this industry needs to crash.

I would love to see where the video game market and industry goes from here, my hopes that it will crash and burn and that we can have a 2nd renaissance or rebirth for the better.

But sadly this is all wishful thinking.

I doubt it. Otherwise Mario Kart World would have set the standard already. Maybe this has a better chance to because it's a higher profile release by a long mile, but even then.

Lots of people were ready for more than $100-$120 base price that I've spoke to. I'm glad we're not getting that.

Nice reference to Randy Pitchford.
Honestly, only game I'm buying full priced is Onimusha: Way of the Sword, been waiting 20 years for a new entry, only buying the $70 version, I ain't paying for the $90 version. Fuck that.
"Oh, but it's only $20 more!" And that's how they get ya... Every. Damn. Time. They're betting people will be stupid enough to pay $20 more for the $100 version of GTA6.
Sadly... there are people stupid enough to do so.

For the market to steer, people need to close their mouths, stop drooling, and proceed to close their wallets. Neither has happened, nor do I think it will.
