Regional Box Art and Title Changes

Personally, I prefer the PAL ones (I swear this isn't European bias on my part lol). I like a lot of the colour choices they'd use for their boxes (Plus; they'd sometimes do their own custom designs like the Mario All-Stars box for example which I really like a lot). I understand how some might like the more uniform look the NA versions have though, but they do look very busy a lot of the time and that "Only for Nintendo" logo they have in the corner looks a bit tacky to me.

What's interesting is that later SNES releases ('95 onwards) in PAL regions started to kind of replicate the NA box art designs themselves. Take Terranigma for example:

These are the German, British & Irish (Top row), Spanish and Australian & New Zealand (Bottom row) releases. As you can see; subtle differences between them all even though they were trying to do the more uniform look the NA ones have, except for Australia and New Zealand who kept the classic PAL style box arts going (I think they got the best one out of this bunch if I'm being honest).
I need to get around to playing Enix's "Gaia" trilogy. Heard so many great things about "Terranigma" in particular.

You definitely should. The praise for Terranigma is well deserved, a real hidden gem of a game. I'd easily put it in my top ten SNES games.

When it comes to SNES box art I tend to prefer the US version.
I dont know if its just bias because thats what I grew up looking at in the video store, but I do think it looks better with the black edges and the occasional "Only For" decal.

Soul Blazer was an awesome early SNES juggernaut, like ActRaiser.

Of course, I will still forever ruin Soul Blazer for people reading this by saying this harsh truth about it:

When you swing your sword, the sound effect is Maggie Simpson sucking on her pacifier.

Wow, does this mean the simpsons is part of the actraiser lore?

Scotty you really didn't give us much choices here lol.
At first glance I was like "more color is better" so was thinking Europe, but now that I really think about it, I kinda like that "Only for Nintendo" heavy orange gradient mark. And everything being uniform black (probably the best color to choose for this) is kinda better.

To be fair, if I were to have done "Western box art vs Japanese box art", I don't think it would have been a fair comparison as Super Famicom covers are quite different and often look better than their western counterparts.

I believe this game actually got an official English release some time ago. Haven't played it myself, but I hear it's alright.

It did, and it's a so-so game....
Nothing particularly special about it, aside from its silliness.

North American. We euros got the short end of the stick when it came to the SNES

Considering how you guys received a vastly superior design for the console itself compared to us Americans, I would respectfully disagree.

Yes, the console design is superior but we also didn't get games like Earthbound and Super Mario RPG as an example. Nintendo didn't seem to care as much for the european market back in the day.
