Ramadan Cooking

Ramadan is only two weeks away so I’m really curious what people are gonna be cooking! I’d love to hear what people plan to cook on futoor/iftar and suhoor respectively! As well as meal prepping.

Curios what everyone’s meal prepping plans are. I also love how different futoor looks in each country.

I plan to start prepping a few days before Ramadan. I’ll be buying Sambosa and Springroll breads and start making the filling then start filling those. I’ll probably make tons of rice and chicken and biryani and stir fried stuff. If I’m empty handed though I might just make mi goreng haha. For dessert, I’ll make either Umm Ali or Qaymat based on the day.
Cheers and early Ramadan Kareem!

Explain to me as a someone who isn't from the Middle East what Ramadan is.
so basicly you intetly dont eat or drink from 3am to (iftar) hour and each day iftar hour gets shorter so it gets easier

u dont drink or eat at all unitel that time comes

we do this to ;
understand the worth of the food
learn what is like to stave and feel thirst
and detox your body basicly
our prohpet did it so we do it as well

it lasts 30 days

I have a question for you guys. You know advent calendars?

They're popular here in Germany and other countries which celebrate Christmas. The idea is that you get a little treat every day from December 1 until Christmas Eve (which is when we open our gifts here).

Well, I just learned that Muslim immigrants had the idea to make a Ramadan version for their kids: a little piece of chocolate (or whatever snack the kid likes) every day during Ramadan. They make their own or buy premade ones, just like we do with advent calendars. Have you heard of this? Would you buy that for your kids? Maybe a weird question but I don't know that many Muslims and I wanna learn.

It's a cool thing ,I might try it ,Altough during Ramdahan we tend to always have treats and stuff during the dinner in our country we have food and treats that you can only find during Ramdahan most of the time ,so it's kinda not as useful.but its still a cool thing nevertheless .Btw the the thing in the bowl of day 25 is dattes and in islam the prophet recommended us to start with it when breaking our fast
