Ramadan is only two weeks away so I’m really curious what people are gonna be cooking! I’d love to hear what people plan to cook on futoor/iftar and suhoor respectively! As well as meal prepping.

Curios what everyone’s meal prepping plans are. I also love how different futoor looks in each country.

I plan to start prepping a few days before Ramadan. I’ll be buying Sambosa and Springroll breads and start making the filling then start filling those. I’ll probably make tons of rice and chicken and biryani and stir fried stuff. If I’m empty handed though I might just make mi goreng haha. For dessert, I’ll make either Umm Ali or Qaymat based on the day.
Cheers and early Ramadan Kareem!

Mashallah brother, let's be stronger and better for Ramadan this year!

In my household the only thing we really prep for ramadan ahead of time is our cheese roll thingies. Stores literally sell its dough in bulk for that sorta thing. Most days we just carry on with our usual rotating meals with Sunday being the day where we eat out and all.
Ramadan Karim, man!

Explain to me as a someone who isn't from the Middle East what Ramadan is.
I'd say that even outside of the M.E. Ramadan is celebrated but it depends of the region.

Basically we control ourselves from eating until maghrib (night prayer) while also not doing and saying bad things.
Absolutely.

Some people I knew often forgot the later part heh (but were scolded by their parents anyway).

Yeah, didn't really pay attention to it until now. People in most English-speaking forums are generally from the US/EU so it's pretty interesting to see some cultural diversity.
"Variety is the spice of life, that gives it all its flavor" as they say.

Lmao that's true, that part was quite hard to control

It probably depends on how much of your population is from the Mid East, Here in Portugal the majority of the population is either Catholic or Christian and the immigrants we get here are usually from Africa or Brazil so we don't really celebrate any other holidays that aren't the usual affair (Christmas, Halloween, Easter and whatnot)

I'm not from Middle East and i'm not Muslim and i know almost nothing about Ramadan but i coincidentally will be making Yabrak tonight because i'm addicted to it i can't stop, you guys have the best foods.
Happy Ramadan to you all
