I always called it "Play 1". That's how it was called around here in Brazil, PS2 too was often called "Play 2".

If I say it outloud its always play 1 or playstation 1, bur im typing it I go back n forth, sometimes I go psx just because all the lets plays on old youtube called it that and it looks cool lol

Even the SNES is not called the "S N ee S" where I am but snes as a single word.
