PSP PSP: The Quintessence of Handhelds

You could officially get PS1 games on that phone? Nice!
Yeah, that was one of the features they had. I believe it came with Crash Bandicoot as a pack-in game and they added a small selection you could buy over time before they closed the service. It was just emulation though, and I do recall seeing something about a program people used to use to convert normal PS1 games to the format the device wanted (like the PSP EBOOT).

I'm always curious to know if anyone has a collection of UMD movies.
I didn't have a huge collection but I definitely had some. I eventually just stopped buying them in favor of DVDs because they were cheaper and liked my portable DVD player more. Ones I can remember owning:
  • TMNT: The Movie
  • Simpsons Movie
  • Hancock
  • Night at the Museum
  • Spider Man 2

PSP really was the best handheld. Spent countless hours with mine. With the exception of maybe Chinese handhelds (emulation boxes), anything since has been a disappointment. I remember buying a cheap 'TOOL' battery and thinking that was the craziest exploit to install a mod (cfw) ever.

I still have it, but the power switch spring is shot, the joystick mounting is broken, the batteries are long since dead, and I just don't want to put money (and time) into fixing it when aforementioned Chinese handhelds are so cheap. I may yet fix it one day, because I could never just toss it in the trash. At one time I was thinking about ripping out the UMD drive and slapping a gigantic polymer battery in it, because a week's worth of battery is never a bad thing. Still have Pro Duo to SD card adapters laying around too.

Since I love the 2000s aesthetic I'm going to buy psp Playing some exclusives, watching movies and various things and watching all the anime I want from the 2000s on it and listening to music and various things that I'm going to do, I won't comment on

Party hard with PSP!!
Anywhere, anytime!!

The PSP is very good, am I becoming a PSP fan? Even though I don't have one, I want to buy one, watch movies, play games and live the experience, download my music and live, download various applications.

Which PSP model are you looking for?

Great choice.
I always recomend the 2000 or 3000 model.

Better ram than the 1000, ideal for homebrew, UMD drive, and i suspect that 2000 & 3000 models were the the best sellers in the PSP line.
That means they are more common and easier to find and buy.

I currently have two psps haha. A red and blue one.

I just want to buy a Japanese model that has the driver working so I can watch my movies that were only released in Japan on UMD And we play exclusives even if the PSP doesn't have region locking. I just want to play some Japanese games to learn or I unlock them. Can you send me a list of good apps in private?A future owner of PSP and other things if you don't mind

With my RG ARC being hit and miss I ultimately decided that until the Switch replica comes out (needs must to play TATE shmups) I'm going to throw down with PSP EBOOTS and UMDs for the original harware feel. Mainly looking forward to consistent audio quality (my main issue with my Anbernic). I'm getting a PSP 2000 in the mail today :()
