Popular games you don't care for?

Probably the likes of Trails series,Final Fantasy after 9,Kingdom Hearts,Persona 3 and 5,Call of Duty,Yakuza series, and the newer Tales after Abyss,i doesn't feel anything or intrigued enough to play them nowadays.

The Call of Duty series; Every Assassin's Creed game - every Ubisoft-style open world game, really; MOBAs in general; most survivalcraft games... Oh! Every JRPG that uses anime mouth sounds as voice acting! I'm sure there's plenty more.

Every Call Of Duty after the first one.

Final Fantasy, too.

And definitely Kingdom Hearts.

DOUBLE THE GASP

LoZ: Ocarina of Time... My least favorite of all Zelda games. No matter how many times ive tried to give it another chance.

This is just my opinion, but because I can't play FPS due to vision problems a lot of games in that genre have no interest for me at all.

I was disappointed by changes to the story in the FFVII remake and the decision to make it an action rpg instead of turn based. I decided not to play it.
I was hoping for a nearly 1:1 re-release (the same thing in terms of story and gameplay, but with pretty graphics, cutscenes, and JP voice acting).

I add:
"Trails" serie, I've played the first one of Cold Steel on Psvita but never wished to continue with the sequels or try other Trail titles.
"Kingdom Hearts": played a title on GBA and the one on PSP and never wished to play others.
"Prince of Persia" because when I tried it I found out I was not good with the parkour/platforming :D

the majority of modern Sony games like The Last of Us, God of War (only 4 and 5), Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon and others, they feel like the same type of games to me to be honest. There are also modern Final Fantasy games, games like FIFA (or FC as they call it now), Call of Duty and modern Pokèmon games

I actually love the persona games, but I can't stand persona 3 something about it I just don't gel with

Horizon: Zero Dawn.

I played it. I finished it. That's all I can say. I liked Aloy in 1. Hate her in 2. The sequel is really just more of the same and I don't get why people lose their shit over it.

R.I.P. Killzone.

persona 3 is the most repetitive in the series.

Tsushima is the best Ubisoft game ever made.

WHAT?! it was the best one! ::smashy
but i guess its a matter of opinion :)
Majora's Mask really annoyed me with the game resetting every hour ><
Ocarina is definitely superior to MM.

we talkin bout popular games outside of retroism? then every single fuckin gacha game ever
fuckin hate em roll-for-png-waifus, it's cos of that shit that we no longer get good games, and companies picked up on that and voila welcome to the modern age

the worst part of it all, is that's what people actually like now
it's all a contest of making the horniest game nowadays

cold takes: leauge, valorant, basically any discord e dater fodder

"hot" takes (I mean its not really a "hot" take since there's billions of people on the internet that might have the same take, but I digress): fallout new vegas. its a fine game but fallout 1 and 2 clear the water in terms of storytelling and how open rpgs can be. i don't like letting a community dictating my enjoyment of the game either but it feels like a lot of zoomers LOVE talking about new vegas yet will never give the earlier games a chance (you really should btw).

legend of zelda series. they're probably fine games but everytime i try playing oot or the 2d zeldas i say to myself "yeah that was pretty good" and drop them, never to be completed.

same with a lot of jrpgs minus smt/early persona games and the older pokemon titles. im just more of a wrpg guy.

New Vegas started to become overrated lol, it was a fine game, incredibly broken on release but still nice. Fallout 2 is my favorite but seems like nobody plays the originals nowadays..

Metroidvanias and roguelikes, mostly due to the sheer amount of them coming out every week

I'll play silksong and slay the spire 2 when they come out but besides those, thank i'll pass.

Almost all first/third person shooters in existence. I have to mention popular games that includes any political agendas (stupid censorship included) behind that defeat the purpose of good storytelling or being just fun for the sake of our minds.

Don't care: Cyberpunk 2077 , GTA , Fornite , Assassin's creed , Halo , The last of us , etc.

This. And that stupid tiredness mechanic

interestingly some of my favourite games have something political in there.
e.g FFV and FFVII making environmentalist points (FFV's final boss literally being a personification of nature itself. And Avalanche being a environmentalist terror organization)

But if it's in there it should be executed well and not just pandering

Interesting. Here's my list along with reasons.

TLDR: Call of Duty. Mario and Zelda. Sonic. Halo. Mortal Kombat. GTA. Final Fantasy. Anything under EA's name.

Call of Duty: Specifically CoD Black Ops 3, even more specific, CoD Zombies. Once the CoD Zombies story concluded in BO4, I just haven't been interested in any CoD since then. The Zombie mode along with the OG cast just brought me back to CoD every single time. Once the story concluded, I lost interest in everything else CoD related. Richtofen is my favorite.

Mario and Legend of Zelda series: I was never a fan of either. It could be that I've been a Sony fan boy because the PS1 was the first console that was actually mine. Even today, I can't bring myself to play either series simply because both are too lighthearted for my enjoyment. Literally, the only Nintendo IP I enjoy is the Pokemon series, but come one, most people around the world only buy into Nintendo consoles to play Pokemon.

Sonic series: This one had to do with simply growing up. From its Genesis era up to Sonic Adventure 2, that was when I enjoyed the series, sneaking behind my parent's backs just to play a couple hours during my school days. After SA2, I just quickly lost interest, lost its appeal. The last Sonic entry I played was Generations on the PS3. Lets just say I outgrew the target audience.

Halo Series: I have never owned an Xbox, therefore never touched a single title, but I am aware how beloved the series is by its fans. Looking from the outside in, it just looks like a standard FPS Shooter. I don't see a reason to get into the series.

Mortal Kombat: Up until MK 11, something just seems odd. Perhaps its the rebooting of the series? I don't know. Just something feels off. MK 11 was the last chance I gave the MK Series. Perhaps its because NetherRealm Studios are heavy focusing on Guest Characters.

The GTA Series: Not a bad series honestly but waited too long for a follow up, so long that I don't experience the hype for the teased GTA 6 follow up. I'm just not bothered in the slightest.

Final Fantasy: Cheating a little, but its popular. The main series is great. I look at it, I appreciate it, enjoyable storytelling, visually pleasing, memorable characters but its not something I would include in my schedule. I do wish we could get a modern FF Tactics though. I prefer the spinoff to the mainline entries.

EA.

I've always loved Link to the Past out of all of the others, so maybe its 2-D for me. Wind Waker is a close 2nd though.

i started on fallout 1, missed out on fallout 2 but had fallout tactics which is such an awesome game!
unfortunately its broken AF on steam.. and is annoying to get working, but totally worth it
its really brutal though i forgot how hard it is.
just save game often O.o

i have played a little of fallout 2 recently but there is no nostalgia in it for me
and its also really hard ><
