Most memorable RPGs in your experience.

Another excellent experimental/unique RPG.

Phantasy star 4 the story and combat drew me in also moved me to play other RPGs.Alundra also was another moving story. Both have a special place in my heart always. When alias died I almost cried my eyes out.
PS4 is wonderful. One of my impossible dreams would be seeing all the other three remade in its engine.

I'm especially fond of the Phantasy Star Generation 4 hack. It corrects inconsistencies and optionally makes the dialogue closer to the Japanese version as well as using those names instead of the localized ones (which I prefer).

Well, I wasn't expecting this to get love! nice to see.

Check moddb for ported/bugfixed versions of the two expansions for the PC version if that's the one you have.

Easy, Xenoblade Chronicles 1 for the New Nintendo 3DS. This was the first game that made me legit have chills playing it, the scene where Shulk screams "I'LL KILL YOU!" at Metal Face still raises the hair from the back of my neck.

For me, four rpg games are most memorable:
  • Neutopia II (pce)
The first rpg game i ever played. it always has a special place in my heart.
  • Shining Force 2 (md)
My first story-heavy rpg game! and it's genuinely good.
  • Final Fantasy 5 (snes)
My first final fantasy, despite having played Dragon Warrior 4 (nes) before it, this game somehow affected and inspired me a lot more... and in various ways. (And i love all dragon quest games a lot)
  • Rune Factory 3 (nds)
The game that has had the most impact on me. no other game has ever come close to this one.

Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Grandia 1 & 2, Lunar Silver Star Story/Harmony, Breath of Fire 3 & 4, Star Ocean: First Departure & Second Evolution, Tales of Eternia, Tales of Destiny, 7th Dragon 2020 (& 2020-II), Ys Seven... Too many to mention!!

And on the non-JRPG side, Fallout 1 & 2 MUST be mentioned!

I always want to answer these threads, but I feel my answer will get repetitive and annoying lol. And it blows my mind these games don't get that much love.

But for me it's Suikoden 2 followed by the First. There's so much story, intrigue, betrayal and heart in those 2 games. They will forever be my #1 most memorable and most played games. I'll play them both once a year, and I can't wait for the remasters

Great games love the series.i heard the creator passed away it's a great loss to the world.

Dragon Quest IX was the game that reignited my love for the genre.

It's a pretty long game, and I have finished it more times than I can remember. I also liked that the characters WOULD ACTUALLY WEAR THEIR EQUIPMENT, which made creating outfits all the funnier.

It made the pandemic bearable.

Great game! Marion's story was especially touching.

Wow, I have lots of memorables RPGs in mind, but if I have to mention some then I Will Say:
Shadow Hearts series
Trails series, special mention to Trails Of Azure
Dragon Quest 7 I spend almost 200 hours in that game and loved every second.
And The Tales Of series, one I could mention is Tales Of The Abyss.

Played "Grandia 2" three times, can't explain why I liked it so much :D
"FF8" has been my first rpg (almost my first videogame), so I keep beautiful memory of that.
On Vita, best RPG for me are "YS8" and "Hollow Realization Sword Art Online".
"FF13" has been pretty good, considering I've waited all these years to finally play it!

Yeah Chrono Cross was quite something, I love its aesthetics and it has quite a unique gameplay on many regards (the timeline concept, the use of magics and skills which allowed you to go all out for easier battles but play smart for harder ones, the leveling up and equipment system...)

My only issue with this game is since you have a lot of characters, some are not really fleshed out.
But it's a fantastic game.

For me it was Dragon quest 9. Thanks to that game I started to like RPG and it made me knew about Chrono trigger and Final Fantasy View attachment 9336

A RPG which allowed you to create your own characters with Toriyama's art style was a 10 / 10 from the start

I have a love/hate relationship with Chrono Cross. I was looking for another Chrono Trigger, and that was lightning in a bottle, and I was super disappointed at first, but I grew to appreciate it for what it is. Chrono Trigger is just so tight, you can play through 3 times in the time you go through Final Fantasy 4, 5, or 6, but it's so tightly paced, with not an ounce (28 grams) of fat.

Similar threads have already been posted dozens of times. What I feared happens: same topic, same users, same responses. Ridiculous!!! As a matter of principle, I won't answer the question. Obviously I'm not angry or annoyed with the OP, but with those (staff and users) who pretend that there isn't any problem.
Isn't it annoying to always read the same things, in threads that steal the spotlight from other more original and creative ones, which unfortunately have few answers (because less visible)? Can anyone give me their opinion on this matter?
I made a proposal for a possible solution, but they never responded.
I am speechless... ?
