Monster Hunter: Old World vs. New World

I enjoy the older ones much more, world goes too much into trying to be overly realistic, having to smell monster dung to find them is a chore, the areas are annoying mazes to traverse to find your mon, the massive ammounts of cutscenes and text feels like a waste of time for a series that has always "grab quest punch monster" and removing the clunkyness makes the battles feels like.. you re not fighting the mon but more like you're doing your own stuff while the mon is there, stuff like you dont need to reposition to a safe distance to heal anymore, the large areas that let you move away from them easily...

For rise they tried to go back to the old but keeped the non-clunky combat and the mons are barely aggresive, that one is truly dancing around while the mon do its own stuff

The ones i like the most are p3rd, dos, and frontier, dont have a way to play XX properly but from what i played while its kinda fun it feels like it drags by being too long?
The "criticism" for GenU (XX) is that 'There's too much content" and fair enough, compared to previous Monster Hunters where the village quests amounted to 17 main quests before getting credits roll, it's a pretty huge game, but for it to be a send off to old world, it's pretty much perfect in that regard.
 
The criticism of GenU was that there were so many quests that it made it difficult to find players for any particular quest you wanted to do. Also the sheer amount of content shoved in there made things feel a bit incoherent thematically. But I agree that it was a fitting send-off to old MonHun. If anything I wish they'd put more gen 4 monsters in, especially Dalamadur and Gogmazios.
 
Yeah i understand the whole "its the end" so it have a huge ammount of content, i think my main problem the bit i played was that i was having fun hitting the new mons of the games i couldnt play before, then the game went and trowed at me the same old mons i killed like 300 times in FU in double quests to progress and more or less it made me lazy, but yeah i have to go and play it properly to see G rank and stuff, i enjoyed saxe alchemy style

Oh yeah, Alchemy Saxe and Valor Saxe are very close to what we got in World and Rise with the semeless tranformation, now that is something welcome from the newer games.
 
If any of the new games brought back the playable Palicos/Nyantas, I would give a newer MonHun a shot. I really loved that mechanic and I'm sad it only survived one game.
 
Oh yeah, Alchemy Saxe and Valor Saxe are very close to what we got in World and Rise with the semeless tranformation, now that is something welcome from the newer games.
actually.. i disliked the world and rise one, felt like it was just SAED spam hahaha

i believe it was japanese exclusive with a kr server that let you play with vpn, nowadays its playable by anyone with private servers with custom stuff that make the game more enjoyable, i recommend it as a fun mh to try to see the exclusive stuff, like the three exclusives weapons and "extreme style" that changes every weapon moveset and makes them unique

Right, there was a time I was considering playing this game just for the Tonfas, but it's more work than worth tbh, I have GU and that's the closest thing we got to these different styles.
