as for MMOs in general, i guess War Thunder counts as one of them? its free to play... but my all time favorite MMO will always be NFS World, happy its still alive

I've mostly been playing City of Heroes' privately run servers. I have looked in to WoW's latest patch because my friend is trying to get me in to it, it's nice to see that they have housing planned and that they're going to be implementing it finally. Undermine seems like content the devs actually care about rather than just a patch being churned out. Other than that? FFXI, occasionally. I just log in to farm things with friends and do Ambuscade to upgrade my relics.

If there's an 'MMORPG' I'm looking forward too, and I know barely counts-- and that there's other MMORPGs around. Whether they're privately hosted recreations of games that were shut down or give me more posting cred but I'm quite looking forward to trying Dune: Awakening just for the community aspects. I'm drawn to MMORPGs that focus more on players working together to achieve their goals rather than solo play, so I'm hoping that will help fill a niche.

I've played TERA Online in the past, and it's been the only MMORPG I've ever felt attached to, I really liked the world, the gameplay, the aesthetics and classes. Unfortunately it was very grindy and eventually died. There are private servers still running today, and I did try them, but found I don't have the patience to play this style of game anymore.

The closest thing to an MMO I still play is Warframe. Put about 2000 hours into it since starting it back in 2014 (and taking a many years break until recently). Another MMORPG I did enjoy, mostly for the Ragnarok visual style and nostalgia, was Tree of Savior. Sadly that one never took off, kinda wish there was an offline version of it, because it was nice.

Sadly that happens, MMOs normally demand too much of your time in order to make any significant progress, or they absorb all your time. At least WoW retail is quite casual friendly right now, even though I much prefer vanilla's style and progression

More news about WoW's incoming housing

what are your thoughts about it? I am, for once in a pretty long time, actually hyped about something by Blizzard

Tbh the only MMO I've properly played is Phantasy Star Online 2/New Genesis.

I wanted to try FFXIV but the monthly payments are a massive turn-off for me, I don't want to feel like I'm forced to play a game, same reason why I could never get into WoW and such, which is a shame tbh, I've always wished to be a part of a guild and meet people and such, guess the closest I'll ever get is Monster Hunter.

Edit: also as a latine was/is hard with the prices, at least before 2018 I think.

I have been playing Champions Online since 2011
It's a super hero MMORPG with AMAZING character customization (sliders, account wide costumes unlocks) and power customization (Freeform System)

I don't like super heroes (in fact because of Disney's MCU and it's consequences I absolutely despite them now), I play to play with my OCs! I have over 130 characters, this game was made for people who like to design characters and have Altitis

Played a bunch of LotRO yesterday. Finished all the deeds in the Shire on my Hobbit Hunter, very relaxing and immersive.
I love going back to that game once or twice a year and just soak in the atmosphere.

I rediscovered FFXIV today and got hopelessly addicted after finding my purpose in life as a gladiator/paladin despite never liking the game much before...please send help.

I guess this is what I get for so often thinking "gee I wish I could get into FFXIV" over the years, lol.

I have been playing Guild Wars 2 lately. Really, really enjoying it. Great exploration, fun combat, and an appreciate the “horizontal progression.”

I'm not playing any at the moment, but I'm planning to get back into Lineage 2 (private server), or maybe give Warhammer Online: Return of Reckoning an another chance.
