as for MMOs in general, i guess War Thunder counts as one of them? its free to play... but my all time favorite MMO will always be NFS World, happy its still alive

I've mostly been playing City of Heroes' privately run servers. I have looked in to WoW's latest patch because my friend is trying to get me in to it, it's nice to see that they have housing planned and that they're going to be implementing it finally. Undermine seems like content the devs actually care about rather than just a patch being churned out. Other than that? FFXI, occasionally. I just log in to farm things with friends and do Ambuscade to upgrade my relics.

If there's an 'MMORPG' I'm looking forward too, and I know barely counts-- and that there's other MMORPGs around. Whether they're privately hosted recreations of games that were shut down or give me more posting cred but I'm quite looking forward to trying Dune: Awakening just for the community aspects. I'm drawn to MMORPGs that focus more on players working together to achieve their goals rather than solo play, so I'm hoping that will help fill a niche.

I've played TERA Online in the past, and it's been the only MMORPG I've ever felt attached to, I really liked the world, the gameplay, the aesthetics and classes. Unfortunately it was very grindy and eventually died. There are private servers still running today, and I did try them, but found I don't have the patience to play this style of game anymore.

The closest thing to an MMO I still play is Warframe. Put about 2000 hours into it since starting it back in 2014 (and taking a many years break until recently). Another MMORPG I did enjoy, mostly for the Ragnarok visual style and nostalgia, was Tree of Savior. Sadly that one never took off, kinda wish there was an offline version of it, because it was nice.

Sadly that happens, MMOs normally demand too much of your time in order to make any significant progress, or they absorb all your time. At least WoW retail is quite casual friendly right now, even though I much prefer vanilla's style and progression
