I downloaded red and green and red has ugly skins. I saw other skins and want to use them but I can't change skins. I'm playing on a wiiu by the way does anyone know if you can change skins or do I need to download skins from somewhere else. Green is good, has a good selection of characters.

Could you please post more detailed instructions on how to add modified bi2.bin and music files with WIT, Riivolution ISO Builder, and Wii Backup Fusion?

How did the original WBFS assign a generic theme song to custom courses?

Thanks.
I don't know how to create the modified bi2.bin file. Well, I mean I do since it's just hex editing using something like HxD, but I didn't know what values to replace. Someone on Discord shared the bi2.bin file already fixed and edited. The regular bi2.bin file from Mario Kart Wii won't work with the way I put the music files into it and will give an error 001 error if you try to play it with that file in it. That file goes into the sys folder. You actually don't need Riivolution ISO Builder since the Riivolution version has all the files extracted out into folders (the music files were in a folder named CTSTRM) If you use Wii Backup Fusion you can tell it to extract the WBFS file to a folder and then you can just move stuff around and tell it to tranfer it to an image to put it back into an ISO or WBFS file. Wii Backup Fusion uses wit for the tool to do all that. The only thing I manually did with wit.exe is use it in the command line to make sure the title names of the games were correct. For example the command wit.exe rename -s RMCEA2.wbfs RMCEA2=RMCEA2,"Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X Blue" was what I made sure to do to have the blue one named right. I don't know how the orignal one assigned the generic theme. There's probably a txt file inside it with assignments to stuff or maybe it was told to use that file based on filenames if it couldn't find the one from the Riivolution version for it. I'm not really an expert with this kinda stuff and I was figuring things out as I go. You're welcome to try asking FJRoyet on Discord in a DM. He's pretty chill and seems nice. He accepted my friend request when I sent one. If you want to use Riivolution ISO Builder to make WBFS versions of patched games you need the iso of the original game and the config.xml that the patch uses and enter a command like this in commandline: RiivolutionIsoBuilder.exe "C:\Wii Games\OriginalGame.iso" "C:\Mods\MyMod\MyMod.xml" "C:\Wii Games\PatchedMod.iso" You can find that here When I tried to build a WBFS for Purple using it it messed up the title screen and half the screen still had the screen from the base game, but everything else was fine.

Wow, that was quick! Can all three versions be played smoothly on Dolphin?
All that's missing now is Sonic Megamix Mania and MK Retro Rewind. ::lol
Yeah it plays pretty good in Dolphin. For some reason the Green one is more demanding and my framerate dropped a lot. My laptop sucks with Wii games anyways. I've been using my Wii for Wii games through USB Loader GX

You can extract the wbfs file using Wii Backup Fusion to move stuff around. But I'm sure moving the files that are for the karts and characters will mess it up and cause it to glitch out. I was able to add the music for all 752 tracks in it since it didn't overwrite anything and the game recognized the files and allowed them to play. There's about 1017 music audio files total in the Purple Riivolution version that had the custom music and in the unmodified versions of these there were only around 300 something. So I added over 600 songs that were missing if you just get the ones from Discord. On those the game just plays a generic theme instead of the music for the custom courses in it.

Noob question its difficult to assamble all those changes in 1 iso game?

Im really confused by what the differences between green and blue are. Is mario/luigi/etc in both versions? Do red and green not have custom vehicles?

Is there just a version that has everything?!
Like it says in the description. Contains Guest Characters (Sonic, Crash, Goku, Kirby, Link, Pikachu, etc.) that replaces the Mario characters. Play Blue or Red (when I add that tomorrow) to have the Mario Kart characters. Although Red has skins for them that look rather dumb and I don't see the need for that version. I think it's best to get both Blue and Green so you can play all the characters and I think the save file is used by both versions? (at least it seemed to be on my Wii in USB Loader GX)
edit: nope there's not a version with each ones gimmick mixed together. It's kinda dumb but that's how FJRoyet wanted them to be

Maybe use romspure.cc for those. I only really wanted to add this game. It wasn't my intention to start a trend of uploading modded Wii games to the site. Maybe some other repo curator might add them. After I'm done with this I'm gonna go back to adding PC-98 and MS-DOS and Windows type stuff. Amiga as well if @Spike will add a section for it. Although I will add that Battle Gear 4 game tomorrow that you mentioned yesterday. I'll add stuff from requests but I'm not sure about tackling WBFS Wii mods. Wii has never been a focus much on here sadly. Because of what happened with Nintendo and Sega over a few of them (Puyo Puyo 7 for example)

Try using the Dolphin MMJR2 player thing in it. I don't know about it but that's what people on Reddit said helped fix when they had a similar error. I've never heard of that app until you mentioned it
Appreciate it! Daijisho is a front end that I can use for Android devices

if you're doing wbfs mods, will you consider also doing ones like smash infinite? maybe rex?

also, what even is the difference between these colored versions to the point they need to be split up lol

Could anyone help me with the game? I am using Daijinsho and when I boot the game up it says the Wii can’t load /write into it.

It's a gimmick that's been a tradition of the mod, but it really boils down to some tracks having different music (MKWorld music in blue, the original themes in red, youtube remixes in green) besides the different models of the karts and characters, even if reallistically both red's characters and blue's karts could be fused together.
Actually I think only the menu music is different for each one. (Blue sounds like World, Green sounds like Smash Bros, and Red sounds like Tour) All the music for the tracks should be the same for all of them. I could be wrong but if they literally made the music for the Wii tracks not be the original music then I'm gonna be disappointed

Riivolution in general is painfully outdated, it made sense 15 years ago, but it just doesn't have any reason to still be around. Thanks to the effort and I hope that goes well.
I'll have to upload the Red version tomorrow since it's getting pretty late. The Blue and Green versions are the only essential ones anyways. The Red version has some good music for the menus but I'm not a fan of the skins for the characters in it

Ahh crap I waited too long before editing the forum post. Now it looks like a mess compared to my other posts. Oh well. The download page is what ultimately matters. There should be an edit time limit exception for the forum posts created when a game is submitted. Especially when new info comes out for the ones that are hacks like this and the post needs to be edited

Yes, I'm going to pretty much argue with FJRoyet later about how stupid it is to even use Riivolution for his mod. He's giving his Discord server members a subpar experience of the mod when with just a little bit of file editing and copy/pasting he could have all 3 versions of the mod have custom music for all 752 tracks. The Riivolution "Purple" version of the mod sucks and just isn't as good as the other 3 versions. The only good thing about it is that it has the custom music for all tracks. But if you use my files you can have all the music for each track without having to sacrifice missing out on the features of each version. They also work fine with both real hardware and Dolphin. So the Riivolution version doesn't need to exist anymore

So this one has the riivolution music already patched in, just like the 9.3 previously posted?

World sucks, Nintendo sucks. We the fans make better content than Nintendo. Stop being a fanboy and start being a gamer.

Is romspure.cc safe to use like here, and would you recommend them.
I like Nintendo ::sadkirby Not a whole lot but I don't hate them. But anyway romspure.cc is a pretty solid good quality site. A lot better than romsfun. Those romsfun assholes literally stole my FFVII PC post and copied the description and everything. Even using the setup readme file I typed for it. If they asked for permission then I wouldn't have minded, but that was really shitty and lazy of them.

to any and all of you about to be cute little smartasses and say "bEtTeR tHen wOrLd" please get off the internet and rethink your life

Quick question and please excuse my ignorance.

Will this one have a green version?

Thanks!
