Does anybody know how to make this work using a FAT32 drive? I tried splitting the wbfs into two parts using Wii Backup Manager but the game crashes at launch
Retro Rewind wiki recommends updating USB Loader GX and try to run USB Loader GX off of your USB storage device instead of your SD card or vice versa.

Also, try WiiFlow Lite or changing Game IOS to 248, 249, 250 or 251.

Could you possibly upload Insane Kart Wii?
Sorry, but I've been unable to add anything to the repo ever since March. A different curator would have to add it, but Mario Kart Wii hacks was never really a priority to add so I doubt any others would be added soon. In fact Wii in general is very uncommon on the repo. I was just being spontaneous and doing something different when I added this months ago. I had no intention of adding other Wii hacks

for me the game crashes after trying the award ceremony with crash handler screen

How do i make this run in my wii with a FAT32 USB? I tried splitting up the WBFS but it crashes::sonic-waiting
Format a drive to WBFS and copy it onto the drive using Wii Backup Manager then it'll play fine with USB Loader GX. If you don't care about music in the extra tracks and are fine with it playing a generic theme for them then you can use the version of this from Discord with a FAT32 drive. It'll be missing like 600 songs or more and some of those songs were pretty good.

Thanks for the nice job, i like the blue version and green version. i have green version from other source that has 3.9gb size, but it crashed when i played battle mode. Don't know if yours will be same as the other source...

will you make an insane kart wii wbfs version later?
The files in this are the same except for the added audio stream files for the missing track themes for the other custom tracks. So whatever bugs the one from the source has then this will also have it. Maybe try asking about it on their Discord server to see if there's a setting or toggle that will fix that? And sorry but no I don't plan on adding other Mario Kart Wii mods to the repo. The mods weren't particularly happy that I added this one in the first place. I had to set it up to not appear on the CDromance site so that Nintendo has a lesser chance of seeing it

Thanks for the great content. I've really been enjoying the tracks from across the Mario Kart series. Quick question: is there a way to build a wbfs from the lite version that contains only the new tracks without the extra skins or music?
You mean the lite Purple version? You would be better off to just download the regular version of Blue. The Purple version doesn't have the same modes. Like it has 50cc in place of 100cc. The Blue one is better since it doesn't have the ugly skins that the Red one has, and it has more kart choices than the others. You can get the regular Blue without the custom music from this link. If you still want to use Purple you can create a wbfs of it that doesn't need Riivolution if you use Riivolution ISO Builder by using it to patch the original Mario Kart ISO with the Riivolution config xml from the files from that first link. It's a command line application but it's not difficult to use. It just has a tendency to cause the title screen to be glitched, but other than that the game seemed fine

Why is this hack in a different page from the old release?

v9.3 has its own page: https://retrogametalk.com/repo/wii-iso/mario-kart-wii-deluxe-hack/

Maybe Spike should consider merging the two posts to avoid confusion.
I done it on purpose. Since I didn't want 6 download links in a post and since the v9.3 version serves as a legacy release of the game before the game made a style change. I'll update the game from the X version when updates are released for it. Please don't have the other post deleted or merged. I already had one other post of mine deleted for the first time ever since the author of the game wanted it deleted (the PS Vita port of Alisa) but I asked FJRoyet for explicit permission for this mod to be on the repo and they agreed.

edit: The way I handled it falls in line with the concept of legacy software. When a previous version of an application is so different than the current version that it causes it to have different content or different behavior then it's kept so users can experience it like how it was during that time as well. I think since v9.3 is pretty different compared to the style and content change that it should be kept as well. And done separately too. It's almost as if FJRoyet is advertising X as a new mod anyways. 9.3 actually has some tracks that were removed in this version and replaced with different ones. It made it seem like they just added 16 tracks, but they actually swapped older ones out for different ones. On top of that the music in the menus is different, the overall style of the HUD and UI is different and some gameplay features are different. The 9.3 version can still be played online too. So I think it should be kept for users that prefer that release over the new X version.

I don't know how to create the modified bi2.bin file. Well, I mean I do since it's just hex editing using something like HxD, but I didn't know what values to replace. Someone on Discord shared the bi2.bin file already fixed and edited. The regular bi2.bin file from Mario Kart Wii won't work with the way I put the music files into it and will give an error 001 error if you try to play it with that file in it. That file goes into the sys folder. You actually don't need Riivolution ISO Builder since the Riivolution version has all the files extracted out into folders (the music files were in a folder named CTSTRM) If you use Wii Backup Fusion you can tell it to extract the WBFS file to a folder and then you can just move stuff around and tell it to tranfer it to an image to put it back into an ISO or WBFS file. Wii Backup Fusion uses wit for the tool to do all that. The only thing I manually did with wit.exe is use it in the command line to make sure the title names of the games were correct. For example the command wit.exe rename -s RMCEA2.wbfs RMCEA2=RMCEA2,"Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X Blue" was what I made sure to do to have the blue one named right. I don't know how the orignal one assigned the generic theme. There's probably a txt file inside it with assignments to stuff or maybe it was told to use that file based on filenames if it couldn't find the one from the Riivolution version for it. I'm not really an expert with this kinda stuff and I was figuring things out as I go. You're welcome to try asking FJRoyet on Discord in a DM. He's pretty chill and seems nice. He accepted my friend request when I sent one. If you want to use Riivolution ISO Builder to make WBFS versions of patched games you need the iso of the original game and the config.xml that the patch uses and enter a command like this in commandline: RiivolutionIsoBuilder.exe "C:\Wii Games\OriginalGame.iso" "C:\Mods\MyMod\MyMod.xml" "C:\Wii Games\PatchedMod.iso" You can find that here When I tried to build a WBFS for Purple using it it messed up the title screen and half the screen still had the screen from the base game, but everything else was fine.

Discord is not working for me.

Can you ask FJRoyet about how to assign or change the generic theme song to custom courses?

It's listed as being in Mario Kart Deluxe. While the Google Document doesn't have "Quag" anything searchable. I also just played it in the old version while I can't find it in Deluxe X.

They definitely have removed tracks. They've added so many Crash Team Racing and retro-MK tracks that it's disguising how many they've cut. I remember a bunch more CGTP/custom tracks in there. At least there's still Mario Kart Infinite for those kinds of tracks.
Well that's one major reason that I still kept the v9.3 version on here as its own post. Since the changes made to it might end up being for the worse on some things. I thought the 9.3 one was pretty fine as it was. I think all they should have done was just add the ones from World they wanted to add and not remove anything else. Also ignore my dumb counting. I suck at math 752 - 736 ≠ 24 lol I thought they just added 12 World tracks and 4 custom fan ones to make it that number. I didn't expect them to swap out the older ones with different ones

Nope it's got all the tracks from before. It just adds 12 more than the v9.3 one had. It's still supposed to be 752 tracks
edit: I'll check and if I can't find it at all I'll ask FJRoyet about it

Wait, I mean 24 more. It adds 12 from World and 12 more fan created ones

Is this missing tracks from previous versions? I can't find Quagsire Bay, for instance.

what means with custom music
because every version has always had custom music for some time
Note what I said in this comment. The "Purple" Riivolution version is the only version with the music from all 752 tracks. The normal unedited Blue, Green, and Red versions are missing over 600 music tracks for all the custom courses. I manually went and added the custom music into all three version so that Riivolution isn't needed to have custom music in all the courses in all versions. If you get the WBFS file from the source through Discord it's only about 3.7 to 3.9 gb (depending on which version) vs the 6.2 gb of mine. So the only way to play Blue, Green, or Red with the music from the Purple version is to download my versions from this post
