i remember having a couple of cards ages ago just cuz i liked the illustrations :ROFLMAO: nowadays i really can't afford to spend money on the real thing, besides i dont even know anyone that would be willing to play the game. however i noticed that there are a bunch of pc games available so i might just give it a spin!

p.s: even if i dont know a thing about the game i'm still aware of the black lotus card :ROFLMAO:

I can't afford the cards either, and from what I have heard of booster box prices, I am assuming the game has overall got very expensive. Even if I could afford it, I wouldn't buy any though because I have no one to play with anymore ::sadkirby

I know this isn't how it works, but as this an MTG threat on a retro gaming forum.

I would pay a frankly irresponsible amount of money for an English fan translation of the Dreamcast game.

As for the TCG, used to play back in 2012-2015. Fell outside my interests and the amount of trash cross over content is irredeemably cringe in my opinion.
But my gf and I brought some bloomburrow starter decks earlier in the year.

Mostly because it featured incredible fantasy art.
Not more soulless Doctor who, Marvel or Assassin creed cash grabs. Or worse, the LoTR collaboration that deliberately dismissed Tolkien's descriptive writing when depicting characters.
I don't like how MTG has become the Fortnite of card games.

Ah! you did it! You hit the nail on the head of why I can't seem to get into the game now. all I want are to get old cards, from the pre-mirrodin block and play with those.

lol, I'm giving the dreamcast game a try and can't read japanese.

Uh, I figured out how to add lands... So that's a start I guess? I was hoping my knowledge of the cards would get me through, but 6th edition is before my time >_< I recognize some from watching cube drafts, but don't think I'm going to get far... Especially with how menu heavy this is that I can't read >_<

I got in to MtG back in the 90s with 4th edition. I haven't played in about 20 years and have 2 boxes of cards sitting in a closet. I did go to a tournament with a couple of my friends back in 2006 and was the only one in the group that made it to the second round. Haven't played since.

That's cool. I played a fringe constructed standard deck (the enchanted evening combo I already posted) during lorwyn standard, it was all I could afford. I got mostly stomped, but I was just there to have fun.

Holy shit 0? How many times can i do this?
Well, you have to pay life as part of the cost, so the most times you could do it would be your life total, but you would need platinum angel or something to not lose instantly if ya did that.

Yeah, I played with friends in the 90s too (never did a tournament though) and haven't really used my cards since then. I used to love playing white, blue, or blue/white decks primarily. Sometimes I would experiment with the other colors too and had a pretty decent black deck at one time.

I like watching youtube videos about old school magic. You played this guy in your black deck? Last video I watched was about how good this guy used to be.

Maybe negator isn't playable anymore, but will always be a bad mother fucker ::heart Just look at that intimidating art O_o

"Resurrecting" thread ::winkfelix with some favorite reanimation cards of mine.
dreadReturn_rotated_reduced.jpg

I have a playset of returns cause I had a dredge deck. Not sure why I ran undertakers though besides just filling the graveyard? Must have been to recur utility creatures to sacrifice while also filling the graveyard? May not have been in same deck since my cards are pretty unorganized lol

Anyone else liked decks with graveyard shenanigans?

You know a good simulator since mtg arena won't run on my PC? Both online and downloadable ones

Sorry I don't ::sadkirby Actually, your thread made we want to bump this thread since I love talking about mtg ^_^ but I didn't reply since I don't know anything about current online.

I played mtgo (magic the gathering online) for a time many years ago, but that is for more serious players since you compete for monetary prizes and need to invest in your own collection and packs for drafts. Unless that has changed?

Doesn't exist. I don't know why but the MTG community hasn't made a manual online browser client for themselves despite how abysmal and bad Arena is. They just kind of live with it. Or I guess I should say they play physically more since MTG is kind of the kitchen table game for a majority of people. Something you just play with friends to have fun and socialise and talk about your week.
The closest thing is Untap and I think Moxfield also let's you play your decks manually in the browser but I can't imagine a scenario where you get another willing human being to set up OBS and hide half their screen and stream the other half over Discord to you to make that work.
