FINALLY! justice to the most snarked at topping
Since pineapple, unlike most pizza ingredients doesn't conserve naturally and syrup leaves sweet flavor, many people associates that with bad flavor, but like most foods, in good hands pineapple actually fits in there, ham may not be a good companion, but i tasted Caesar pizza with bacon and pineapple and God walked into my mouth for a while
By the logic of "Sweet doesn't go on salty foods" We should hate those who boil pasta on milk (Yep, they are real) by the end of the day, pizza is like a sandwich, a blanc canvas for imagination (Unless you put chocolate or bananas there, WTF is your problem if you do that?)

Banana and cinnamon is also super popular here and it's my favorite. The perfect balance of sweet and savory.

Generally, Pineapple is accompanied by Ham, and this is called a Hawaiian Pizza. They're not bad.

Pineapple is a great topping on pizza. HOWEVER just pineapple, as others have said, makes the pizza a little too sweet. Thats why its important to include ham or even better, prosciutto for some savory flavor that pairs very well with the sweet pineapple!

Once you go pineapple and prosciutto, you can never go back to pineapple and ham!

This thread motivated me to make some homemade Hawaiian pizza tonight for supper, so thank you all. Also, pineapple is amazing on pizza and anyone who says otherwise I'll metaphorically fight- like many people mentioned before it all comes down to the type of cheese, you got to have some funky old style cheese for it to really pop together.

We got bits of maple ham, some pineapple of course, the finest store bought bacon crumble bits as I'm not so fancy to not use pre cooked bacon, some herb and a small amount of garlic tomato sauce, and a smoked old cheddar mixed with mozzarella cheese.

Hawaiian, with fresh 'napples, lightly caramelized on bacon fat with a little cayenne for that swift kick...
It's on the limit of what's acceptable, but man does it feel good to tease the rules with it sometimes.
Now, brazilian "pizzas" on the other hand, hard no. Stay away from it. Don't even google it.

This plus spinach, basil, and red pepper flakes on a thin crust is my perfect pizza. Prosciutto is one of those things that the universe invented to prove that not everything sucks.

I really like prosciutto, arugula and goat cheese on a flat thin crust with some cherry tomatoes. It's almost as good as Hawaiian.

Yesterday I ordered a pizza, the delivery driver drove so fast that the whole pizza looked like an accordion and all the topping was in the box. Had to throw it away.
It was the first time I threw away a pizza. Very sad day.

On Topic: I wouldn't eat it but if others want it I won't get mad. One pizza each everyone's happy hurray!

I actually enjoy pineapple on pizza but I think the pairing of ham with it is the incorrect choice. It needs a saltier or slightly more fatty meat to balance the sweet and acidity. Bacon is the clear winner to that riddle, in my mind.

I personally don't mind it, it's not something I'd personally order but if I'm at a party or at a watch party and there's a Hawaiian pizza there I'd probably take a slice or two.
