Any of the fighting games (Tekken, Soulcalibur...), Dynasty Warriors 4, TimeSplitters 2, and Twisted Metal Black were all pretty damn fun.

Not sure on what platform would you want to play but I love Blood Knights, Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light, Sacred 2 (Tho it is more like diablo-ey than arcade-y), Sacred 3 (which is more couch coop) & Unbound Saga for the 360.

Timesplitters games, GTA San Andreas, Battlefront 2, Unreal Tournament, Soul Caliber 3. Spyro Dawn of the Dragon, LotR Return of the King and Sly 3 have co op main campaigns. Ico has co op but you gotta beat it first or download a save for new game plus. Half Life has a co-op campaign that's different to the main narrative. Gauntlet Dark Legacy is really fun with 4 players.

I just wrote about/reviewed Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance, it’s a great two player game. Someone else mentioned Champions of Norrath and it and its sequel are awesome. Dark Alliance 2 is great. The Marvel Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends games are great. Rathet Dead Locked can be played coop. Tons of stuff

Trust me, you have to play Obscure if you haven't. I still remember the fun playing it two winters ago with a friend of mine. We had such a blast, and the story was also captivating. A very cool horror with survival dynamics. Not that hard but still challenging. Great game. Haven't played the second yet.
