i tell my internet friends where i live and they visit and we have fun
It always irked me to see (young) parents posting pic of their kids online...I avoid it like the plague... People are radically stupid, posting pictures not only of themselves, but their children and even babies.
I also avoid internet shopping, online banking, etc.
You're putting your kids in display, sometimes even forcing them, in the "Race for clout".It always irked me to see (young) parents posting pic of their kids online...
At least family photos are in private.
I pity the kid that would grow up if their friends find them back online...You're putting your kids in display, sometimes even forcing them, in the "Race for clout".
I also had a conference about "the dangers of the internet" back in middle school, aren't those done nowadays? When I first started using the internet as a kid, it was common knowledge not to give out your name or personal info online, and I still mostly follow those rules.
And even then I feel that there are always risks of intimacy breaches (like someone's account getting hacked or if someone decides to leak/dox). I knew someone who's irl "friend" (well, more like a bully pretending to be a friend) who gave personal data like phone number to his buddies just to "do a prank".The only time I'll ever consider sharing more is with my circle of closer friends online, and even then I don't like oversharing.
Things like this are why I'll never give out anything too personal in an open online setting. Even just a name I feel is a bridge too far.And even then I feel that there are always risks of intimacy breaches (like someone's account getting hacked or if someone decides to leak/dox). Exactly, a close friend circle is something but when the friend's friends are knowing things about you it's a problem. This is why I always disliked the whole "show that to your friends and the friends of your friends" on Facebook until they revamped it because two degrees of separation can be too exponential already.Things like this are why I'll never give out anything too personal in an open online setting. Absolutely nothing. I want to be safe thank you.
