How have games influenced you?

Gaming has affected me in a lot of ways.

I still remember playing Super Mario Bros (nes) and dreaming of making changes to it... (actually i literally dreamed about doing so too!)
This ignited the "developer" flame in my heart, and eventually leaded me toward my profession, which is programming.

I always loved music of games, to the point that i memorized all of them without even trying to do so...
I always repeated them in my mind, and imagined the scenes that music was playing for...
This eventually leaded me to understand the details, connections, and meaning of each piece of music, and also their relation to scenes.

While i really enjoyed stories of games, but i always was thirsty for more!
So i always imagined different scenarios in my mind... this eventually leaded me toward story writing.

I couldn't understand english beyond alphabet and a few words... but thanks to playing RPG games and having my trusty dictionary at corner of screen, i eventually learned english without any official learning course.

And there's a lot more...

I've adopted speech mannerisms from Majima and Saejima. I type how I talk so irl and over text I use "ya" instead of "you" a lot and "'preciate" instead of "appreciate" for example. Didn't really choose to do it, it just started happening and never went away. I think because I look up to them both. That's ASD for ya... SEE!

It all started... when Joker was invited to Smash.

Persona 3 taught me that death may be inevitable, but that's what makes life precious. One doesn't need to have a grand purpose in life, it can be something small, like someone to take care of. Hell, it can be smaller, like feeling the wind on your face, the fresh water soothing your body, the sound of conversation reverberating in your ears, just feeling the senses are enough.

Persona 4 taught me that the aspects that people hate about themselves are still them, and they are still people no matter what. Everyone has flaws, but that's what makes people perfect ironically enough (Have you seen a character with no flaws? Pretty boring right?). And the sooner you accept that, the easier life will become.

Persona 5 taught me that authority isn't everything, and that autonomy is our greatest gift. It's a shame that some are willing to throw it away just to avoid responsibility or hardship, but its like a sinkhole, its hard to get out of. But once you do, you'll find the greatest weight being lifted off your shoulders, and life becomes enjoyable.

And then, a cyborg ninja rapidly punched a senator in the gut.

The Metal Gear Solid series taught me to think outside the box (primarily in VR & Missions). Along with how war and any type of fighting is pointless, and how it only hurts humanity in the long run. Genetic Control? One can still master their own destiny. Information Control? It's all about doing thorough research to reach a solid conclusion. Emotional Control? They are what makes us human, and suppressing it unnecessarily only leads to heartache. Battlefield Control? He who controls the guns controls the world, but we can still fight back. Killing people is useless, but killing ideas are much more effective in inching closer to world peace.
That makes want to play Persona

If it weren't for video games, I would've killed myself a long time ago.

Bloodborne inspired me to get my first tattoo
And Sonic was my gateway into metal

There is a reason for a joke Lord Valvatorez is my RPG dad.
My folks acted more like children growing up so my sibling and I raised ourselves in turn Videogames raised me.
Valvatorez's whole thing of keeping promises no matter what stuck with me. Sometimes I would promise something off handedly then later on like "Fuck I did say that." And deal with me fucking around and finding out by keeping the promise.

Also, if I play too much Tetris it get mental screen burn from it where I be playing Tetris as imaging things in my head.
Like if I were thinking of a scene of the show, there will be a grayed out overlay of Tetris as I'm imagining the show.

And the rule of threes.
Visual Novels were the only reason I didn't skip days in college. The only reason I came to the campus was to read horror/mystery VNs with my little buddy, and I went to classes since I was in the building anyway.
