How have games influenced you?

Games have influenced me to make more games. I'd say they have done their job well

Gaming has affected me in a lot of ways.

I still remember playing Super Mario Bros (nes) and dreaming of making changes to it... (actually i literally dreamed about doing so too!)
This ignited the "developer" flame in my heart, and eventually leaded me toward my profession, which is programming.

I always loved music of games, to the point that i memorized all of them without even trying to do so...
I always repeated them in my mind, and imagined the scenes that music was playing for...
This eventually leaded me to understand the details, connections, and meaning of each piece of music, and also their relation to scenes.

While i really enjoyed stories of games, but i always was thirsty for more!
So i always imagined different scenarios in my mind... this eventually leaded me toward story writing.

I couldn't understand english beyond alphabet and a few words... but thanks to playing RPG games and having my trusty dictionary at corner of screen, i eventually learned english without any official learning course.
