i almost wanna smack people that think that music made with electronics and computers has ¨no soul¨.
On the radio I heard more noise posing as music of acoustic guitar strumming with someone wail over like a horny teenage monkey that made me painfully cringe so much more then some cheap cheesy eurodance ever could accomplish.

Dunno if it counts as controversial opinion but everyone who praises Mega Drive ear rape soundtracks like Street of Rage 3 one and everyone who defends Mega Drive's sound must have serious problem with their ears.

While I wouldn't call them shit, they're definitely overrated as hell. Then again what do you expect from Sonic Adventure fanboys? Especially since there are much better Sonic soundtracks like Sonic R.
My jimmies get particularly rustled when people try to talk about them as something other than the soundtrack to a 20+ year old video game.
Thankfully it's only happened in actual real life once (which is still one time too many for me to not file twelve restraining orders).

Wait! You defend electronic music while at the same time you mock Eurodance music that is electronic?

So you don't care why anything is happening, you don't care where you have to go to continue (which gets revealed in the story), you don't care about characters outside of their function, and you don't care if something about the gameplay changes or needs to be understood within the logic of the story? How can you even get through the game comfortably with that little understanding of its internal logic?

No, people who play RPGs aren't looking for a book. Nobody joins D&D sessions just for the story. But they still want the story, because the mathematics on there own are just dull. Again, an RPG without any story elements is basically just a spreadsheet of math and RNG. But that math is actually entertaining when it has a story to go with it.

The speed features were added because some parts of RPGs (the grind, most notably) can get a bit slow and need rebalancing. That isn't skipping gameplay; it's keeping it from getting overbearing.

Games with great story and bad gameplay are in the vast minority. (You didn't even give a real example of one.)

Carmack sucks at understanding games that aren't FPS. He's stuck in an outdated mindset of what games can do and how they can be designed. If all games were made based on his view of how it works, the gaming landscape would be dull as a brick.

Oh, and since you're a fighting game fan, I'd like to point out that there was a huge outrage from the fighting game community over Capcom's "characters are just functions" argument to justify Marvel vs Capcom Infinite's garbage roster. Even fighting game fans, who don't get too invested in story, still care about it more than you'd think.
i don't think they are truly taking this seriously.
i took a break to do a couple of tasks around the house, and i spent my time thinking about: "are there any games where the story isn't necessary, but it adds to the gameplay experience in some way. a game where the gameplay loop is far more interesting than any characters, lore or story.
i found a few; two of which i just recently started playing again.
Mega man X: command mission, dragon warrior/quest monsters 2, pokemon, digimon world 1 and 2 are a few examples; out of a good couple of thousand ones. that's all i could come up with.

Fair, I think calling any genre ‘lacking soul’ is strange in of itself because that’s such a weird claim.

There is a reason said band keep milking themselves as "the band behind Sonic Adventure soundtrack" and act like greedy bastards over "their music" being used for Sonic movie 3. Why Sega mostly works with stupid people when it comes to Sonic franchise?

I feel the same over all these schizos who cry like bitches about Ai art while the art they make and shill for is anything but soulful, it's lazy-made as hell and they also use computer to make them. And many of them don't even draw with pencil on paper.

Dance music is not music, DJ aren't musicians.
The Beatles are overrated.
'70 music is 80% garbage, '80 is probably even worse (mainstream music).
Techno is trash and garbage, it should not exist. If you listen to that £$%& you don't undestand music.

'Suffer' is Bad Religion's only good album, but it's a 10/10 album

Now I'm interested in knowing what you do consider music?

Regarding your quote; I think it's their definitive album. Everything before sounds rough and unfinished by comparison, and everything after it sounds derivative and weaker.

I think Kanye West's and Kendrick Lamar's music fucking sucks.

Anybody who claims to be a music lover but only considers one or two genres as "real music" is not a music lover.

Most music snobs I've met ended up having either milquetoast taste or were trying too hard.

This applies to all media, not just music, but not everything needs to be deep or meaningful to be enjoyed. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something corny or cheesy. Music as a vibe is fine.

Classic music.
Punk and almost every of its subgenre
Metal and its subgenre.
Jazz.
Soul.
'40, '50, '60 music.
'80 and '90 hip hop music.

So what makes every other genre besides those "not" music? Also why the fuck do you consider the fucking 40's and 50's good and not the 70's?

I love Heroes, I have it for the PS2 and yeah the pinball section is hell. Even when playing team rose it is hard. But it is fun. Except for the second to last boss that goes backwards and has a shield. I hate that boss. (Team rose is easy mode, and that boss is still a pain in the ass, so hard that I haven't beaten it yet.)

a hot and controversial take at the same time

for me, words on their own don't matter. Its the intent behind them that matters. Talking a lot, without substance, means nothing, back it up and don't backstab others behind their backs.

In other words, fellas, when in real life, women, say, they want a nice guy, with a good heart and height doesn't matter to them, they mean the opposite, oh, and body count, does matter (the less bodies a chick has, the better actually), a lot.

Summary: be yourself, dress well, have a good hygiene, focus on you, stay in shape, don't live for their opinions, do it, for you, you can be both good when it needed, and act tuff, when it needed as well, stay sharp, don't change yourselves, and in the right time, the good chick will appear, the chick who will love you, and not your wallets.

God bless all of ya.

Primus sucks ::winkfelix
Just called my father to let him know "Today, I am truly your child; I'm about to attack a nerd on the internet who dissed Primus."

Then I realized I'm not that stressed, and the old man owes me money; I'll honor the family when he honors my wallet.

Look up the "Primus catchphrase" ;)

As for the main topic, Lil B unironically has higher highs than MF DOOM.

Jenny Death is ass I'm so sorry I always see people calling it Death Grips's best project but dude I cannot stand like half the track list. Like yeah On GP and Centuries of Damn are absolutely incredible, but the voice effect on Why A Bitch Gotta Lie is ear grating, Pss Pss is so methodical and dull, and The Powers That B is just audio sludge, it sounds like the music is throwing up after drinking way too much. And like Disc 1 of the project is so much better, the Bjork samples make it such a cool listen, the very glitchy production is something I wish they explored more. (but they just broke up so whoops guess we're never getting that) Like Billy Not Really is just a straight up banger and the vocal sample barrage at the end of Big Dipper is so good. But everyone always tosses Disc 1 aside and only ever talk about Jenny Death. I hate that album so much.
