Hot takes

Maybe humanity isn't ready for AI. Society certainly isn't. This is one genie that needs to go back into the bottle. The bubble must burst. I've seen the tech used for good but every tech company pushing it seems hell-bent on using it for evil and nothing but.

Ignoring empirical evidence about a thing you didn't have a full grasp of, just so you don't have to go "oh wow, I didn't know that, I've been looking at it wrong all this time" is an unfortunate way to go about things.
Sorry but why is this unfortunate?

I'd argue that humanity isn't ready for many things we got there (ie: nuclear fission and weaponry and even ecology since we are still struggling to manage those).

The second Industrial Revolution and Digital Computing went fast in about a century that it's like living long enough to witness both Antiquity and the Middle Ages.

I think it kind of speaks for itself. Why deny one's self the truth or a better/easier way of doing a thing?
I think I've misunderstood your comment, my bad.

Although, I'd argue that making things easier isn't always the better thing to do. Hardship is what builds people into becoming better.

I can see this in perhaps on a case by case basis, but I'm speaking more to cases of someone being purposely stubborn for no real reason or benefit. Anyway, don't have to agree, it's a hot takes thread after all.

I'll say it
Tea should be hot only
there
It makes sense.

Like Coca Cola should be drink fresh with bubbles.

On the other hand beer is just soda for adults, it's too sugary for its own good.

Modern movies are too high definition
They feel way too detailed, too glossy and sharp, to a point they look more defined than actual reality.

This might because I watch mainly least 10 year old movies but when I’ve seen modern ones their just too much on my eyes. Even when the scenes are supposed to be grimy they feel too clean because everything is just too clear it’s distracting.

It reminds me of the hyper realistic blood eyes trope, that’s how modern movies feel like to me.

Although I’m totally aware this is probably because most of the shit I watch has the resolution of 250 pixels

(My aversion to Ai is also making me less trusting of things of too high resolution, things that are too clean an glossy)

True i had this feeling since some years back but could never put it fully into words , you did it better than i could.

I also hate how perfect everything looks and it's often accompanied by boring script or bad director.

Another one: Is your desk completely full? Like NO more space for hardware full? It's time to stop consooming and actually use what's on it.
