Hot takes

I dont like that people keep insulting groups that i am part of and/or i support. I consider that to be "indirect bullying", specially when there are lots of people from those groups in the same online community you say it.

Like, if you dont like a specific individual then dont apply their flaws to their entire group, just talk about them, and no innuendos

Fallout Boy's "Sugar, We're Going Down" is actually written in a made up new language called Fallboysian. Philology is amazing.

I'm sorry to tell you that but you shouldn't feel personally attacked just because someone doesn't like something you do.

I'm not sure what kind of group you're talking about but someone doesn't always have to agree with everyone on everything either.

Sometimes innuendos aren't voluntary but I get what you mean.

Also I'd still argue that pattern recognition is mostly an evolutionary/adaptation thing that intelligent animal species have: if a rat get a shock when touching a red panel he'll end up avoiding anything with the red colour.

Obviously most won't make generalisations with everything around and applying the flaws of an individual to the entire group as if one bad apple spoils the entire barrel because we're supposed to communicate on these things.

Now, another hot take I have is that BlazBlue is a much better franchise than Guilty Gear.
I personally disagree because BB feels a bit like "weebish" like how Persona was compared to Shin Megaten. But I'm fine with both series coexisting, just that GG X2 already beats every BB entries.

god of war ps4 sucks, the story is nonexistent, characters are at best mediocre and at worst annoying, that bearded bald guy is Kratus in name only, characters and settings are tonally inconsistent, gameplay is janky and stiff, camera placement is horrible, every puzzle is a pushover, difficulty is super artificial due to the change in genre, and I didn't like any of the boss fights
I can talk about how much I hate this game for 10 hours because I am so disappointed
bruh, i didnt know it was that bad...

i think this is because modern gamers(not just journalists) hate any sort of difficulty and want games to literally just play themselves
100% I wish we still had more old school gamers to set the record straight and start encouraging modern ones to take the challenge

That would be too much lol , how about this hotcake , video game dialouge should consist of a round 20 words at most
Ok. But they have to be really long words. Really long Welsh style words. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

Sometimes, as good as a beta could look like, a release can still be ultimately be the better product.

Half-Life²'s beta is fascinating yet I feel like if it was released as such back in 2003 (or early 2004) it could've been disappointing or not as praised as the current game is.

Still, for preservation's sake, we still need to have some access to those betas like with Duke Nukem Forever from 2001.

A solution but the player base will need to come up with translation because Welsh style words are impossible to read

Maddeningly difficult-to-navigate videogame settings are perfectly fine.

- Engrish is legitimately charming. I can excuse older games having it as long as it's not misleading the player.

- UIs/HUDs that are intra-diegetic (ie: existing within the game's world) are immersive but I'd also rather have an easier readability at the cost of immersion. If a game makes the players having a harder time understanding their HP because of realism it fails at that simple gaming rule.

Does Metroid Prime/2 do that sort of UI and HUD well?

i would say the games do. all of that stuff is supposed to be in samus' helmet. so she is seeing the info as well, so; it shouldn't be considered immersion breaking.

Well, the UI is literally the helmet which is a genius choice from Retro Studio. Not only that but also very readable.

  • I personally don't like calling A Link to the Past "Zelda 3" simply because, while it's the third entry in the franchise, is not a sequel to Adventure of Link. I don't see anybody calling Link's Awakening (or Ocarina of Time if people only count home console releases as the mainline ones) "Zelda 4".

  • I know that it's mostly older fans using that term since it was teased with this name back when the SNES was coming yet I feel like it's abuse of language. It should've even been called "Zelda 0" if we wanted to count the timeline back then. It's the same issue with PSX for the PS1 when the PSX is a specific PS2 model but I'm also used to that name to make sure I'm talking about the first model of the brand.

  • Also I don't consider Yoshi's Island to be part of the Super Mario Bros series simply because while it's called Super Mario World 2 (despite being a prequel) it's also a game with a different playable character, a different gameplay (yes, it's platforming but not with the same mechanics) and if DKC and Wario Land are seen as separate series then this one as well.

Yooka-Laylee wasn't that bad it's just that people don't know what the hell they want.

The controls worked fine, the levels were gorgeous, the weird burbling noises were a thing in the Banjo series that people wanted YL to emulate in the first place, and while the powerups weren't flashy they weren't bad either. The only thing I can really agree on with commentary about the game is that exiting worlds to expand them is slightly annoying as you can't 100% a world first run but the game was fine people just thought they wanted a new collect-a-thon platformer but when they got one they crashed out.

I agree. Yoshi's Island isn't a Mario game. It's a Yoshi game.

People who disconnect when they're invaded in a Soulslike game are clearly not ready for online gaming and should have every surface in their house covered in foam and bubblewrap.

Mario Land 3 isn't either a Mario Land game, is officially a Wario Land game

GTA V is overhated just bc it isnt as realistic or dark as GTA IV and bc it has an "empty" overworld
